Oh, one other thing, Table 5. In the Sport modes the side bolsters automatically adjust to squeeze you in. I had that in my last car, too, so I kind of take if for granted, but it is a great feature that helps you feel in control when pushing it. I actually once had them squeeze me in when I was just in normal mode but bombing around a bit...I think it figured I was having fun so strapped me down a bit.
I know that isn't really about the handling, but it does help in the way you feel while pushing the handling.

Well you aren't going to mistake it for a BMW...
The Koreans have been putting out some excellent looking vehicles lately.

All good if you don't like it, though (of course). There are so many details in cars it's impossible to find one that is perfection for all of our individual tastes IMO.

Fascinating, I wasn't aware the G80 came with the bottom spoke in the wheel making it a passable looking steering wheel. That's perfectly fine. The 2 spoke (I guess?) Just looks awful though.
Best steering wheel I ever did see was in the RX9 concept back in the day (early 2010s). That needs to be a real thing for Mazda.

Their design turnaround has been pretty amazing.
As late as 2012 they where still putting out uninspired crap like the Amanti, Kia's "executive car" that looked like a knock-off combination of Town Car and homemade E-Class.
Hiring away Peter Schreyer from Audi in 2006 was probably a pretty big catalyst for the turnaround. They've gone from industry punchline, to being at the head of all the mainstream car companies in terms of pushing design forward. I don't always like what they put out (I think they often over design) but you have to admire their ambition.

Honestly, that's pretty much all you can ask for in a car like this. I think most cars these days handle pretty well (it's definitely not the olden days where many pitched and wallowed like a boat) so it's all pretty relative. I've yet to drive or ride in one, but to me a Genesis is more like a Lexus...you expect it to be able to handle itself in a corner, but the emphasis should still be on ride quality and comfort.

A nice ride Silver for sure. On the short list for performance sedans when it's time to move on from the Audi.
They are rare-ish, something that appeals to me and why I have what I have currently.
I assume it is CPO from a dealer to get the service package you have for the time you have? Or is it just the remaining time on the original warranty?

Yes, CPO. They even gave me a set of winters. Excellent service from the Hyundai/Genesis dealership.
The rarity is a weird one. I'm very surprised by the positive reception for the car here. I didn't think people would care since it isn't a popular car or a popular brand. I was kind of surprised I even ended up with it. I had a fortunate budget that allowed me to pick from a lot of neat vehicles and this is where I landed. You'd think people would be crapping on me for not getting the RS6 Avant or the Porsche, but instead people get the rationale and think the car isn't a dud. That was nice to hear because for the first few weeks - while I didn't have buyer's remorse since I felt so l confident about my choice - I did go back through my notes a few times to reassure myself why I didn't opt for something else. Then I read what I didn't like about those cars and re-learn that my car solves all those problems.

We’re going away this winter for a month and I want to preserve my two car batteries during extreme cold. I imagine it’s bad to leave a charger on for that long. I could purchase two battery tenders. Is that the best solution? Edit: garage is not heated.

What you're touching on in a very slight way here is that for a lot of brands the overarching reason to get one of their cars is snobbery, pure and simple. Getting a Genesis is all about getting a great car and not paying a markup for plastic badges on the front and back of it.
Frankly the kind of people who would crap on you for buying a Genesis instead of an Audi, Porsche or what-have-you, are the kind of snobby idiots who'd gladly buy a $200 T-shirt if it has an Armani logo on it.
A friend of mine was one of the first people in Calgary to get a G70 in 2018, and it was a great car in the five years he had it.

Depending on the car, and how attached you are to your radio presets, you could also just pull the batteries out and leave 'em in your house...

Instead of physically taking the battery out, I've found having a little disconnector like this super handy.

I think MoneyGuy's concern is less about the batteries' charge slowly trickling down while he's away, and more about them going through deep cold weather. A disconnect won't solve that problem.

Yeah, that's a good point. Perhaps I just assumed moneyguy would be the type to have a heated garage, If it gets cold in there taking the batteries inside is usually the best bet, although I have had a car on a trickle charger through winter and it was fine.

Yes, get yourself a couple of NOCO Genius trickle chargers. They work super well at maintaining / tending your battery.

+juan with respect to NOCO Genius trickle chargers, if that's something you want to buy. I have a Genius 2 plugged into the aforementioned car outside right now, and it works perfectly.

I’ve got the Noco trickle charger ironhorse posted. I use it on my snow plow truck that sits outside and has a weird electrical gremlin that drains the battery for some unknown reason. It works fantastic and I’ve had no issues in two winters of use. The only thing worth mentioning is I’m not sure if they are rated for lower than -20 or -25, so you’ll want to confirm that before purchase.

Alternatively you could hire the neighborhood teenager to drive it a couple times a week to keep the fluids moving. Good for the local economy, too.
