Again, I'm not using Lack's numbers as a measure of his psyche, and never implied that I was. You took a turn of phrase "reeks confidence" and misinterpreted it. The phrase implies how I feel about someone else, not how they feel about themselves. I'm the one doing the smelling, so to speak.
|
Well, yes, you are the one "smelling" or "not smelling" Lack's confidence—meaning you sense that he either has it or he does not.
If what you meant to say is that Lack does not produce or reinforce your own confidence, then you need to use a different idiom. You should have said, "Lack does not illicit confidence," or something of the like sort.

I guess I'll just say one more time, that I never suggested how Lack felt about himself or that I was attempting 'arm-chair psychoanalysis'.
|
That is fine. But when you incorrectly use idioms it becomes difficult to know what you are trying to say.

I feel attacked as a poster, as you didn't take the time to even properly comprehend what I'd written before making a series* of assumptions about me and what I wrote. That's twice, recently, that you've responded to me as such. I get that you have different viewpoints than me, but please try to respond to the post, and not to me as a user that you don't seem to like.
|
I am sorry you feel attacked as a poster. I am not sure why, since I don't think I have ever impugned anything beyond the content of your posts. When I see things that I strongly disagree with or are flat out wrong, I have a tendency to want to respond. Your two posts that I have called out have just happened to get caught in those crosshairs.
My apologies for causing any offence.

Haha I don't mind it, a number of those "things" are actually from the very small number of people on my ignore list. So I only see their posts when Textcritic quotes it and calmly shreds it to pieces point by point.
It's a weird kind of glee, but I savor reading it whenever it happens.

I don't know, I find textcritic's responses more and more off-putting, mean spirited and harder to shrug off.
I also wonder why there can't be more than a sense of smell? Pretty sure everyone has heard of other senses including intuition, but I suppose Text knew that and still went in attack mode.

Time to see what we have in Lack. It would appear the Flames intend to give Smith a heavy workload, so one of the questions is whether Lack perform under a very sporadic schedule.

If you're referring to why he used the term smell in response to Thymebalm it's because he used the saying "reek confidence" ... reek means to smell strongly of something...

I think the most important question that needs to be answered... is what am I going to eat in my hotel room tonight during the game? As always, suggestions are welcome.

I just had a burger with a fried egg, fried onions, onion rings and bacon. With fries. And a coke.
