And that's why I didn't only include points in this comparison. Because, by only comparing point projection, it's stupid. Zary is a C, he's also younger, and his versatile high end package gets the edge here IMO.

Just look at this past season straight up:
Pelletier: 1.34 PPG
Zary:..... 1.51 PPG
And Zary is a C, and 6 months younger.

Or maybe it is center over wing?
Or maybe it is higher pick in a deeper draft?
Or maybe because Pelletier was hurt and didn’t play in the world juniors
Or maybe it is because a lot of the experts loved the Zary pick and had him in their top 15?
Why is Pelletier better? Because he is older? I don’t know I have no time to watch junior hockey and get my info from reading articles and forums. I think it is more than recent bias when it comes to these players

Or ...
Zary is bigger
Isn't coming off injuries (concussion)
And plays center

For those of you espousing Pelletier, what is the argument? Why is he the better pick? We've seen lots of good arguments for Zary, but so far the only argument for Pelletier is that the rest of us must be biased.

That is likely what I will do. He's an interesting case, because most prospects will move up or down this list over time, but there's a reasonable chance this is the only year we'll be voting for him.

Love CP experts lol both Zary and Pelletier are good prospects. Who is better? Nobody on this forum knows. Went with Pelletier but almost chose Zary. Nice to be able to have a debate on quality prospects

Considering Wolf just won the award for best goalie in his league (WHL), nationally (CHL), and is regarded as one of the best goalie prospects in the NHL I think he should be #2 on this list. I understand goalies are still very unpredictable in their development, but based on accomplishments he sits at the top of the pile for junior prospects for me.

Totally agree! It’s just so hard to predict goalies especially Flame drafted goalies. With that said Wolf is the most exciting Goalie prospects the Flames have had in a while.

I had Pelletier as recently as yesterday, but I think between him and Zary we can't go wrong. IMO both will have NHL careers.

As I said lots of reasons to vote for Zary here, just cant really say Pelletier has stagnated and Zary has not.

No one has voted for him (I voted for Zary), but another guy that should be in our top 5 is Zavgorodniy.
I am leaning towards picking him 3rd or 4th.

I like both players. I think the floor is higher on Pelletier. I read a few scouting reports that were concerned about Zary's foot speed. Pelletier on the other hand moves well, and has good
habits the way he moves, especially his hard starts and stops.
Really I've seen more of Pelletier, and really only read up on Zary so it's hard for me to compare fairly.

Gawdin is definitely an interesting name, to see where he would end up. He is expected to make the NHL, but how will people vote for him? If it is based on high-end potential, he will be lower down the order. If it is on who has the best chance, it should be Top 5.
I'll probably be voting for him in the top 10, but is definitely an interesting prospect.

Nice try, Braithwaite.

Wolf's biggest failing is that he is a Flames prospect. Outside of Mike Vernon, the only ones to make it are the ones who escape Calgary's development and land with another team.
I hope he breaks the curse, but it is tough to believe in a goalie drafted by the Flames.

Kind of torn between Pelletier and Zary. I like Zary's size more, but I also think Pelletier improved his stock over the past year and is less of a mystery box.
I am just too jaded to get behind Wolf yet. I have been hurt too many times by goalies and his size still makes me apprehensive.

Before Pelletier was injured on Dec. 5 2019 he was 3rd in QMJHL scoring with 49 points in 26 games, that's a 1.88 ppg rate. It'll be interesting to see if he gets back to that this year or stays closer to his production after he returned. He's currently at 1.50 ppg after 4 games.
