Default LF Portable Monitor

Hey guys I am going to be stuck in a hotel for awhile and looking for a portable monitor. If anyone has one they are willing to part with or loan out please reach out. I would need to grab it before Monday evening.

Thanks!

All monitors are portable if you're brave enough.

Definitely not brave enough for this portion of things. I’m looking for something like this https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product...E&gclsrc=aw.ds

I was looking at these a while back and the Lenovo one looked like the best simply because of weight. There are lots on Amazon but some of them weigh upwards of 4 lbs which is just ridiculous. I was just going to wait until a sale came along for it.

We have the Asus one at our office currently which works great however it is my colleagues and he will need it so I can't steal it. I was hoping people would have scooped these up during pandemic and would be lying around collecting dust now.

I can also trade an actual monitor if someone is willing to lend me one for the week. I won't need it until Thursday

If you have a Chromecast, you could probably hook it up to the hotel TV.

That wouldn't make work productivity great. I ended up buying this one off amazon for $172.00 Seems to work great so far and even has Vesa mounts so that's fun!

Yeah definitely provide thoughts because while it appears a bit on the thicker side at 1cm or so, the weight is actually quite good.

Edit: in particular, does it have USB C power passthrough? That is, if you plug in your laptop to the monitor using usb-c, and then plug the monitor into power, does your laptop also charge?

Definitely the thickness threw me off at first but I am guessing it is because all the port options and the vesa mounting. It also came with every adapter you can imagine which is great.

Yes it has USB c pass through that was an absolute must for me who wants to plug into power

Also the case is a bit thicker then a Smart Cover style case which adds a bit to overall bulk and weight but still not bad at all. I’ll be using it tomorrow on the go so hopefully it works out well

3 hours in monitor is great. No lag at all and screen is nice and bright. Still being powered just by USB C and all is good!

I wish I knew portable monitors were a thing! I just broke my laptop screen and decided to go with the “all monitors are portable” line of thinking and it’s just a pain in the ass hauling it around lol
