All Female cast of Ghostbusters announced
http://insidemovies.ew.com/2015/01/2...ones-mckinnon/
Quote:
Director Paul Feig is teaming up with Bridesmaids stars Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy once again, this time for his upcoming female-led version of Ghostbusters—and Saturday Night Live stand-outs Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon are joining the party too.
The Hollywood Reporter initially reported the news that the four actresses will be starring in the reboot, and Feig followed up with a wordless tweet featuring a photo of Wiig, McCarthy, Jones, and McKinnon.

I generally find McCarthy hilarious but I dont really like Wiig.
Either way, this is going to be a tragedy of Biblical proportions. I'm talking Old Testament, Fire and Brimstone, real Wrath of God type stuff...

I love Kate McKinnon and I see a Justin Beiber ghost appearance in the movie.

You know, making it an all-woman lead cast is better than replacing one character with a token woman, so at least there is that. We'll see though. Remaking classics is never an easy task.

While Dan Aykroyd (Ray Stantz), Harold Ramis (Peter Venkman) and Ernie Hudson (Windston Zeddemore) had agreed to reprise their characters, Bill Murray proved elusive.
YOU CANNOT HAVE GHOSTBUSTERS WITHOUT PETER VENKMAN!!!

Cool. Better than a bunch of old farts running around.
Nothing against Bill Murray and the others, obviously.

Once Ramis died, this movie should have died imo.

I've got an adult crush on Kristen Wiig so I will watch just because. Don't ask me why because I have no idea.

God, no one is worse at acting than McCarthy. She has basically 1 comedic persona and her only way of getting laughs is her loud abrasive schtick.
Wiig and McKinnon are great. Leslie Jones is okay, but she too, relies a bit much on the loud/abrasive lady routine.

Wig and McCarthy are one trick ponies. Wig is decent when she's a secondary character. But she's unfunny as a leading lady. McCarthy will run around screaming and flailing.
They'll probably up the ugh factor with a Will Ferrell Cameo where he's a socially awkward ghost that yells a lot.
They should have left this franchise alone after the first movie, which had a brilliant cast, brilliant secondary characters and a undeniable chemistry.
Make something new. Leave the old good movie franchises alone.

Now, a Ghostbusters with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon, that I could go for!
Come on, and 'all-woman reboot' is about as crappy and gimmicky as it gets. If it was women in some other city setting up their own Ghostbusting company or something it may stand a chance.
But a gimmicky 'reboot?' This is a shameless cash grab.

I'm getting the feeling you either weren't born yet or were too young to register memories when the original came out.
