What a game to be at. Best game of the season by far. Crowd was huge and absolutely fired up too

That was fun. A very decisive win against the best possible team to dish it to. The match really had 2019 vibes to it. You know, the feeling that something special was happening, and not just a pedestrian win (or loss/draw for that matter).

And because it was Forge, I love the fact that we were awarded a questionable penalty that wasn't even in the box AND Henry saved it, but got called out on his early movement and couldn't stop the re-take. Even 7 minutes of manufactured injury time couldn't rescue Forge, and sad Henry left the pitch faster that anyone else without shaking anyone's hand. Such a baby.

Akio getting a yellow card for hugging his mom after scoring. We'll take that one.

Didn't realize he's Loturi's brother.

Willy went to Ross County first, then Victor followed. Now willy is back where he belongs

One thing I noticed was Trafford was FINALLY using his height to win balls. More of that please.

When I spoke to Tommy preseason he mentioned Ntignee would be the next Loturi and would move on to a better level. I bet he is gone within a year to a higher level. Not quite the finished product yet but just so talented and surprisingly good defensively for a 21 year old winger with little pro experience.

4100 on the Friday night of August long weekend is a massive attendance. Weather was perfect. Crowd was rowdy. 3-0 win over our rivals. You love it. Couple videos I captured of the general vibe and the Aird penalty goal.

My other "vessel of hope and disappointment", Norwich City, just got a winner at the end of injury time. They haven't won at home on opening day in over 20 years.

The sportsing gods have been kind to me in the last 14 hours. Just wondering what the catch is!

Being the cynic that I am, I thought that after not having a goal to show for Ntignee's first 15 minutes of mayhem on the Forge defence, that we'd fall into some of the same old habits that have plagued the team this year.

While there was still a lot of passing it around the back, and back again, and back to Carducci, etc. they actually opened up Forge now and then, and even better, capitalized when they did. The tactics were patient, but had some attacking intent that has been missing this season.

Tactically they unleashed something the CPL has not yet seen. Out of possession it was a pretty typical 4-4-2 with Carmago dropping deeper to help provide an extra man in the midfield. That was really important as Daley man marked Bekker and took him pretty much completely out of the game.

Then with the ball it became a 3-2-4-1 with Shome playing beside Trafford at the base of the midfield and Daley pushing high with Camargo to form a midfield box. This created an overload against Forge and always meant there was a free man to receive a pass. They also tried Daley a few times over the top to really keep Forge guessing.

Ntignee was a monster and Akio really grew into the game and his role. Add Bevan back into the mix and that is a scary attack! Something we haven’t seen from Cavalry

I think Kobza is going to be MLS bound in the next year or two. He’s Waterman 2.0 but with more composure. And Klomp is becoming the best defender in the league. They trust him so much to break the opponents press.

I want to know where Camargo and Trafford found their new legs. They were everywhere

I though Shome played well.

I’ve got a soccer loving friend from the UK staying with us for the next couple of days and he would like to pick up a Cavalry shirt before he heads home on Friday. Anyone know where would sell them? Does Sportchek have them?

I think you'd have to make your way to Spruce Meadows and they have a store that I think is open through the day.

Not sure I'm a fan of this signing, but we do need fullback depth...

I think I called that a month ago!

I like Field. Adds some needed size. Don’t think he ever really got a shot between injuries and Vliet coming on last year.

What a choke job. What's up with Musse and Ntignee? Suspensions, or hurt?
