No Vitoria, Borjan or Hoilett. This is a good start. Let the youth have a chance to shine. I am excited to see what Shaffelburg can do. Also, great to see Waterman again.
Part of me is wondering if/when Mo Farsi might get a call, assuming he does want to pull the trigger on Canada.

Also, a call-up for Jonathan Sirois - another notch for the CPL!

Friendly against Mexico announced as well for September. And in the press release they mention they are looking for a second opponent in September.
Good couple weeks for the MNT I'd say.

Finally! A roster of players who deserve it based on what they’re doing now
Shame Ali Ahmed is only just coming back from injury, kid is a stud and will be a mainstay for many years
Ugbo back in is nice to see. He’s had a real up and down season but has a different profile to the other strikers

Playing a one and done with such high stakes is going to be tense. Still T&T's roster is so weak, mostly domestic Caribbean and CPL players. But you'd think they'll have Levi Garcia finally in their side who is about their only decent player.
Nice to see those friendlies, even with just a small cut of the gate those have to be very profitable for soccer canada.

My guess is the CSB is funding these to an extent, and getting the returns, becuase not sure where else the CSA got any extra cash after deVos said they didn't have any funds for more than 1 game the last international session. Whatever, these games are vital to the expected prep for CA which gets the team and players the high level experience they need to develop.
And, good selection. Hoilett would be the only mild surprise, maybe Borjan. But Vittoria, Kaye and especially Cavalini, shouldn't really expect to draw back in, ever, outside of extraordinary circumstance.
And, they wouldn't assist at all in beating T and T.

I think Nike is just super boring with their kits in general. I feel the same about their club kits overall...not horrible for the most part (they have some that definitely are!), but just no risks taken.

Why use two-tones of red? ick .
The whites would look infinitely better with red pinstripes all the way through the jersey. Why stop?

They are absolutely awful.
Even the white one; how the 2 logos align at the end of the stripes makes them like nipple guards.

Both are terrible, and the worst of the latest slate of Nike kits. They look even more amateur hour when shown with the shorts.
But at least we got new Nike kits?
Socks are finally an improvement...
Honestly I'd rather take a red version of the England away, France home or a slightly different China home.
The France away striping is so much cleaner than ours.
If you're going to centre everthing, this is how you do it. It's beautiful:

Why is the Nike logo in an oval at all?
Makes it look like a knock off

Nike swoosh in the oval is the branding when Nike uses or used to use in the 90s on their cheaper apparel. Also was used on their first entry into hockey gear. It looks terrible on both, a regular swoosh miles better.
Two tone red, terrible. Logo and branding placement, why different between the two? What's with the white on the collar of the red. Is it supposed to be a C?
White version, again the weird swoosh. Stripes are ok, and a bit retro, but even though 13 stripes represent provinces and territories, they could've done it a better way. Maybe all striped but make these 13 stripes thicker? Whatever, this looks half finished.
Same font for name and number as previous kits.
Kits for 2026 can't look any worse, I guess.
US ones came out today too and you can tell a lot more attention was paid to them and the details.
Edit: Saw the pics with the shorts. Shorts are busy, have that awful swoosh, and, like the Flames and other NHL unis from the Reebok Edge refresh in 2006 there's a stripe on the shorts that lines up with the stripe on the side of the jersey. CFL had this look too, a decade ago.
Seems as if we got the Nike intern who wasn't good enough to redesign the MLB disasters. Of course, the CSA/CSB had to add input and sign off on the final design.
First thing that new secretary general should've done if serious about rebranding the tire fire of a CSA, is redo the CSA logo. A soccer ball hasn't looked like that in a FIFA match since 1974. I assume it will be redone for 2026.

Big game tomorrow. For soccer to move forward in this country they need to make events such as Copa America.
Though, as per the the TSN article earlier this week, the finance and accounting staffs at the CSA and CSB won't shed too many tears if they somehow lose to T&T tomorrow...with player bonuses and the training camp to be setup, it will cost $1M for a federation that really doesn't have that money or allowance from its business manager.
