Could Peters have challenged the avs player clearly trying to shoot the puck out right after high sticking Tkachuk to get that time back or was it not something they would look at?

Double edged sword, the third line was great, but also the third line can't be your only line going so that kinda sucked too. Man the top 6 needs to pick it up.

Least surprising outcome ever.

Garbage team is garbage.

Flames must be the worst first period team in the league and have to be the worst second period team as well. By the time the other team decides to pack it in and go on to the next game, they might get a fluke to make it close, but overall this Flames team is outclassed by most WHL teams.

Given their luck though, they will lose the lottery and draft some off the board pick that rounds out to be a nice enforcer in the ECHL.

I mentioned it in the game thread, but I may as well say it again here. The Ryan line was the best line by a fair margin.

Won 10 out of 24 games.. 10 goals in 24 first periods..

Simply unacceptable to be starting so slow in the majority of these games.

So, they only play well in the last 10 minutes of each game, but every 5th game they play well for the full 60.

Do we have a sports psychologist handy to tell us what that means?

Liked the fourth line.

Liked the goals. Finally.

Did not like the start.

Did not like Rittich trying to give away another goal at the end.

Did not like either of the "top two" lines.

Not good enough, yet again.

This team continues to settle for low quality shots while working hard.

Playoffs? That’s a big ol “maybe”.

Backlund is not a top six player.

Well, that was ... better? Honestly I think that game was pretty much 50/50, we are mired in an absolute funk where nothing is going our way. Still lots room for improvement, execution wise and that 2nd goal was an absolute softie by Rittich but in general, they didn’t look like hot trash tonight. I’m not ready to give up on the team yet but man, they need to really put a win streak together quickly or we’re looking at a roster retool post-trade deadline and offseason. I didn’t expect them to win the WC again but they should be top 3 in the division or at worst a wild care team. Last year wasn’t a complete fluke. The team just needs some kind of exorcism to get out of this and I really think they’ll start winning a lot more than they lose. Here’s hoping they’re just doing a reverse of last year, awful to start the season before picking up steam in the 2nd half and riding a nice streak into the playoffs.

- get scored on first.
- have best players not be your best players.
- PP not getting it done.
- save best effort for the end of the game when it's too late.

Rinse and repeat.

At least the Ryan/Lucic/Dube line was good. Nice to see.
