Abbey Mastracco @AbbeyMastracco
The Devils are placing Cory Schneider on waivers today at noon. He’ll be assigned to Binghamton of the AHL tomorrow if he clears.

New Jersey Devils
@NJDevils
The #NJDevils have recalled goaltender Louis Domingue from the @BingDevils (AHL).

Yeah that was an overpayment from the second that trade was made.

I think Blackwood is a legit #1. Maybe taking on the role a year early, but he has been their best player on a lot of nights going back to last season

Blackwood's solid and their future. Schneider's pretty much done.

It's crazy how quickly his game declined and horrifying how injuries can seriously derail people.

At one point, I thought he was the best goaltender behind Carey Price. He had all the attributes of the perfect goaltender: mobility, size, puck handling, hockey IQ and calmness.

There's a (small) part of me that believes he can still come back.

I'm not sure I'd called the deal that was made over payment by the Devils.

Schneider was a really solid goalie, and the 9th overall pick is 50/50 good player or bust.

The way it turned out with the Canucks getting Horvat it looks bad in hindsight, but it easily could have went the other way if the Nucks had picked Nichuskin for instance.

Yes. Stress can affect people physically, and it was courageous of him to address this honestly.

Be careful how you use the term bust. Getting educated by the Brain trust of CP in another thread

Most people thought we'd be trading Luongo. I myself preferred Schneider to Luongo at the time.

Hindsight is 20/20. No one knew we were drafting our future Captain and Schneider was gonna fall apart. For all the dumb #### Gillis did and for all the work other GMs did that he tried to take credit for, the last major move he made was actually a great one.
