Tkachuk had 2 should be assists but czarnik and frolik both missed the wide open net. Another set up where backlund got robbed. He is still getting better too

Monahan is struggling but I feel he looks faster this year and playing more physical.

I believe this team on the verge of exploding offensively.

I've never gotten off the wagon, the Tkachuk friendship tour steam rolls forward.

I have in the past questioned his regular attempts at plays through the legs. (Something along the lines that it looks great on the highlight reel when it works, but that it actually works so infrequently)

I am glad to take that back.

Also I liked in the interview that he said it wasn’t something he thought about, just a reflex play.

the way he explained it did make alot of sense, essentially was the only play he really had (based on what he figured - correctly- was time remaining on clock) that would have resulted in a legit scoring chance

I’m far from a professional hockey player. But I have always supported “between the legs” as a legitimate move. Once you can do it yourself (likely not able to take it off a blocked shot and roof it from the hash marks) you’ll start to understand the benefits. Not only can it protect the puck a bit, the main bonus is how quickly you can elevate it compared to taking a regular forehand shot. You are able to elevate the puck further back in your stance. It can really be useful when properly used. So I support practicing it.

That being said, I never anticipated seeing something similar to how Tkachuk scored last night. Yikes.

From a beer leaguer's perspective... it requires an incredible amount of talent to pull this off. I tried it in warm-ups last night... hurt my back, almost destroyed my groin muscles all the while getting the puck to move on the ice towards the corner at a very slow pace.

He attempts the between the legs shot more than any player I can remember so not really surprising that he finally pulled off a beauty like last night. He's a really talented player and as he matures he should be even better. I sure hope in the coming years he gets the opportunity to play with better players and no offense to Backlund and Frolik but he deserves to play with players that have more offensive skill to better make use of his elite skills.

Get us a center and rebrand the team.
If you are trading JG you better be getting a #1 Centre back. Amazing how ridiculously underappreciated Gaudreau is on this board. Other fanbases drool at the thought of having him on their team, half of ours want to run the guy out of town.

Hard to hit the net when you're not even in the lineup.
