Yeah, take away the transfer fees and these guys are probably on fairly reasonable wages.

And they're good players...they're just not directly in line to step into first-team positions for Liverpool.

And the club won't win a thing as long as those rats are in charge.

it's a pity too because the team did everything you could have asked from them and more to make it to 3rd place. They did their job, now it was management's turn to deliver ... and they didn't. I'm far from Solskjaers biggest fan (I'd happily replace him with Poch on the spot if there was a chance), but neither he nor the players deserve to be hung out to dry like that. Solskjaer will inevitably take the fall in a couple of months, but really, the problems lie somewhere else completely.
I keep reading about the Glaziers financial interests in the States. Their commercial, shopping mall, real estate holdings are underwater. They're financing their livelihood via MU withdrawals.

Where's that russian oligarch that was poking around? Surely, he's better that this family of american tosspots.

After Hicks & Gillette you get zero sympathy from me.

It's also not like the Glazers don't spend at all, they just spend poorly and/or not as much as the oil clubs.

Yeah. This.

I've mentioned this many times, but look at the players Liverpool have bought. How many of them are still worth at least what Liverpool paid if not more?

Most? All? We just sold two youth players for £35M because while they are good players, they just cant break into the first team.

Its not about how much you spend, its about purchasing intelligently not just splashing cash.

yeah, it's almost as if having a structure within a club leads to results. I can't wait for the "United wants to appoint a director of football" articles that are predictably going to come out on Tuesday.

I think some of this is luck though. When you buy young players, regardless of scouting and such, it's difficult to get everything right. I look at Spurs buying Vincent Janssen a few years ago. Young guy, banging in goals in Holland, playing for the national team and scoring there also. Everything looked good and promising. But it just didn't come together in the Premier League. It's not a coin toss for sure, but there's not always a lot of certainty with these purchases and how things will turn out.

Calvert-Lewins run is amazing. That's what now, 9 goals in 6 games? Crazy.

Pickford isn't very good, surely he's no longer England's #1.

Say what you will about Leeds, but they are entertaining to watch.

All of my ill-will towards Leeds from the 90s seems to have evaporated.

Ederson is just a Brazilian Pickford with better distribution. Change my mind.

Hes made 2 finger-tip saves to keep his side in this after bungling the cross for the equalizer.

I'd say hes slightly better than Pickford in the 'critical save' regard, but your assessment isnt too far off.

But Leeds are going toe-to-toe with City. Showing no fear.

De Bruyne not having a great game, getting caught on the ball far too often. He isnt distributing well.

I will say though, City's defending looks panicked and frantic, they do not look comfortable defending and Leeds are dragging them all over the place.

well their back four from today's game only cost them a measly £220m, with another defender subbed on who cost £40m. What do you expect from that? Good defending? Impossible!

This has all been a gradual build-up to Newcastle/Burnley - that is going to be the real toe curler.

if you can't get hyped up for a Jonjo Shelvey vs. Ashley Westwood battle on a Saturday night, you've never really loved football.

or something along those lines
