Teams need to start doing the opposite on the Stros. The Bean bat. Bats slipping out of their hands towards the pitcher's mound.

and the home teams need to get it together. Start putting in random trashcan banging sound effect throughout the entire game.

If they do finish the season, the final standings are going to be so weird as there is no way every time is going to end up playing 60 games. What a disaster.

Multiple positive tests with the Cards, their game in Milwaukee tonight has been postponed. 6 teams are postponed, that is 20% of MLB. Not sure how they can keep playing.

This is getting embarrassing for MLB, it's going to keep getting worse. Admit they made a mistake cancel the season and move on. It's not rocket surgery.

So a thirty game regular season?

While the NBA and NHL were working on a return to play plan, MLB and its players were arguing over money. Such a shame really.

The NFL is surely having a wake-up call too.

Yeah, I give the season about a week before they pull the plug. Hopefully the owners use this as a wake up call and realize the Manford is a fool and move on. Bring someone in who isn’t a complete ####bag and reopen the Astros scandal. Strip the title and go after the unapologetic players. Then look into playing the season in the fall at hub cities and use it as a catapult into the 2021 season.

You'd think they could play in a hub city for each division and do 3 games most days (one team plays double header). Would have to just play in division but its better then nothing

Yeah, you'd think fricken hub cities and isolated bubbles would have been the way to go with COVID running rampant in the states. But nooooo...

I wonder what will happen to the players salaries should MLB cancel the season. Are the owners on the hook for the full prorated salary they agreed to before the season launched? I don’t think they will cancel, the schedule will be a patch job all season.

MLB screwed themselves big time. On a positive side the Marlins have nearly achieved herd immunity.

Canadian govt is looking like geniuses for denying the Jays from hosting teams/games in Toronto.

Unreal. How stupid can you be? How could the MLB be so unorganized with a restart in the middle of a pandemic?

More St. Louis Cardinals apparently tested positive.

MLB had a poor plan for restarting obviously but if players are doing what the Marlins supposedly did then obviously players not taking things seriously either.

MLB tells broadcast partners to prepare for potential 2020 season shutdown, per report

https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/m...wn-per-report/

Quote:
Major League Baseball's commissioner Rob Manfred told MLB Players Association head Tony Clark on Friday that the season could be scrapped if the league's COVID-19 numbers continue to get worse, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan. Per Passan, some players briefed on the call believe Manfred could pull the plug as soon as Monday, depending on the extent of the weekend's testing.

Sounds like Manfred pulling a threat, though a real one. The blame is shared. Players union are as greedy as the owners. PA also didn't want anything to do with control of players when clearly there's more than just trust during a pandemic. When players are used to doing whatever they want, it's hard to stop them without some type of controls in place, and MLB owners just wanted a quick buck no questions, while the PA wanted the same with absolute freedom. Lazy asses get what they deserve - no money for any of them when this ultimately shuts down.

Bubble is the solution. NHL and NBA going to look so good.

i don’t know, it’s odd that there have not been more positives in the NBA and NHL, the NHL said that they were not gong to report positive tests. That’s ripe for a cover up.
