Marseilles is a messed up town, lets start with that.

But cheering on the Germans to beat the French team just so they're the only French winners really shows where that City's heart is at.

It is so amazingly cynical that I cant help but respect it.

huh? It's completely normal. You wouldn't see football fans from London or Manchester cheer for Liverpool against a foreign team, or people from Madrid cheer for Barcelona and so on.

The thing is you live in Australia which is an entirely different world on your isolated island....but you see in the Hockey World the media inundates us with the mantra of 'your patriotism is determined by whether you cheer for a Canadian team'

If theres only one Canadian team left it becomes 'Canada's Team' and you have to cheer for them. Which I vehemently refuse to do. (Go Flyers)

but you've just proven my point. If somehow the Oilers were the last Canadian team in a competition, you wouldn't cheer for them ... but you would cheer for the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Arizona Coyotes, the Chihuahua Sombreros, Traktor Chelyabinsk or whichever team might be up against them

it's the same in football, just without the "well, you ought to be a patriot" BS

Hey! I cheer for Traktor Chelyabinsk on the simple premise that they have fantastic name!

Canada's team is a media creation. No fan believes that.

And Marseille hates PSG. If it were another french team like Lyon, they still might not want Lyon to win but they would not be setting flares on the streets.

I know we're talking about the men, but Kadeisha Buchanan has won 3 Champions Leagues already.

I cheer for other La Liga teams when they're in European competitions except Atleti. And I would cheer for an extinction level event asteroid over Barcelona.

I mean obviously a big we'll see here, but it seems more realistic than ever Messi goes elsewhere.

I would. That guy could head to PSG or City and demand the Moon and they'd pay him.

Barca is a nightmare right now, I'd GTFO if I could too.

Leave a disaster of a team to be paid outrageous sums of money? Where do I sign?

Wonder if the Spanish government will try and illegally funnel Barca some more money to save their mess. But yeah they've been exceptionally poorly run the last few years.

Puyol already saying his goodbyes. Definitely not just a threat.
