Quite the barnburner in Stockton tonight: https://lscluster.hockeytech.com/gam...ame_id=1020809

The Heat beat the Condors 7-5. Ryan Lomberg had a 6 point game (2G/4A).

Gillies and Zagidulin split the game. Zag only faced 3 shots in 28:24, but allowed 2 goals. Gillies stopped 9 of the 12 shots he faced.

This was the Heat's second and final preseason game after an 8-3 loss in Bakersfield on Friday.

So the G's/team surrendered 13 goals in 2 games.

Could be a looooong season in Stockton.

Im actually happy for Schneider to go to KC....a guys confidence could get shattered playing on a team that cant prevent goals to a degree where it never comes back.

Hoping BT can figure out how to upgrade that defense.

Alright...this is already dumb. One game, but 3 goalies on a team doesn't work. Goalie development isn't our strong suit as it is.

Well, this is one way of solving the goalie issue. Injuries. Not good.

And this is exactly why I didn’t think we had excessive goalies in the minors. Every goalie in the organization being healthy is more unusual than a goalie or two being injured. Some fans during the off-season saw an ugly 3 headed goalie monster in the minors (assuming everybody would be healthy) but I looked and saw the depth necessary to survive the season (assuming most of the year we’d have 1 or 2 injured goalies throughout the organization). Our minor league team often uses what? 5-6 goalies a year? So 3 can’t be too many.

Wow. Two amazing goalie prospects just circling the drain right now. I thought for sure we'd end up with at least one NHL goalie out of those two. Crazy

Good opportunity for the oft-overlooked Nick Schneider. His is a longer path, but he still has promise.

Also, according to eliteprospects.com, Adam Tambellini has departed the Stockton camp to parts unknown.

Yes, both Tambellini and Grenier were released from their tryouts.

4-0 for the good guys near the end of the 2nd period.

Phillips, Froese, Robinson and Kirkland with the goals.

Nice start to the season. Keep it up.

edit: Kirkland, not Kincaid. Brain cramp.

Goals by Phillips, Froese, Robinson, Kirkland and Yelesin.

Yelesin a +3 on the night.

Three Stars: Zagidulin, Phillips, Colorado guy.

Second Colorado goal was BS. There was a Eagles guy standing in the crease behind Zag not allowing him to move back, and no he wasn't shoved in. Should have only been one goal against, but oh well.

Good game none-the-less.

I tried listening to the last period online, but the audio feed was awful. Sounded like the PBP guy was about 10 feet away from the mic.
