Its been reported that Niantic has increased rare spawns substantially since Friday. I'm getting a lot more quality near my house than I did previously.

I have noticed a difference for sure. Where I live (Airdrie) I am seeing pokemon on my "sightings" I have never seen in Airdrie before.
Also, I went down to Prince's Island Park on the weekend and I usually find at least 1-2 rare ones and didn't find any in the 2 hours I was there.
My buddy got a Snorlax in Ranchlands which he has never seen before. Seems like it is more spread out.

Well, I'm obviously looking in all the wrong places. Haven't seen a sniff of anything interesting anywhere I've been looking.

I'd probably be happy of sightings of any pokemon, seems like half the time when I open the app at home, there's nothing in my sightings.

Starters other than Charmander seem more common now as well. Caught 3 Bulbasaurs in the last day where I had caught 5 in the last month.

The only one's I've seen are squirtle. Bulbasaur was my first choice (none caught) and no charmanders at all.

There is a Mr Mime at the Calgary Tower gym, don't think that's available in North America. A cheater or a traveller.

Mr Mime, as well as the other regional exclusives, can be hatched from eggs anywhere in the world. They just can't be found in the wild outside their region.

Pikachu isn't too rare if you're looking in the right spots. I've managed to hatch two and catch about 8 to evolve my Raichu.

I just hatched a Chansey. 364 CP and 307 HP. Quite the tank. Not sure their best use, I guess I'll have to practice, any tips?
Also, I have nearly enough Magikarp candy for the big Gyarados evolve. Question, my best 2 Magikarp have the same stats and IV. One is bigger than the other, does that make any difference?

Chansey is good for leveling up a gym by fighting higher CP pokemon. With that health pool and dodging you can take down stuff with 1.5-2X Chansey's CP. You get more gym points by fighting stronger Pokemon than yours.

I'll see that at raise you a 28 CP Aerodactyl. They seem impossible to find.
Also hatched a ~1200 CP Lapras with two ice attacks. Finally I can take down all those Dragonites.
Any suggestions for beating all the Snorlax based gyms that the high end players love using? Until the game updates for Johto and I can land a Skarmory (whenever that happens), the type coverage is pretty solid. Exeggutor has solid stats and can weaken the effects of its Earthquake/Zen Headbutt but loses out against Lick.

I just caught a level 837 Scyther in my house. One raspberry and one great ball and done.
Not the Snorlax I wanted but I'll take it.
