I dont know how many spots concacaf are getting with the expansion to 48, but the 4th place concacaf teams have never finished higher than 30th at the world cup

Its such a top heavy federation

They shouldnt be getting more than 1 new team if any at all, maybe some half spots so a playoff is needed

As far as England tanking the last game, this is still England, as nice as this start is they still won their group in 2016 and we all know how that ended. I actually think the easier the potential R16 opponent, the more likely England are to lose.

West Germany used to tank games.

In 74 to avoid Holland and 86 to avoid Spain.
And one other occasion that escapes me.

So if England and Belgium tie it goes to fair play!

And since Belgium can play Fellaini, they have the tiebreaker in the tankfest.

England currently lead Belgium 2 yellow cards to 3.

I would say at this time, Mexico stands as the only world class team in CONCACAF. That being said they will have a tough time against Sweden who are one of the most physically tough teams in the tournament. That has been a problem for Mexico before.

That's amateur hour. Defender should head that out for a corner and keeper should catch that.

I'm having a hard time predicting who should win this? My guess is japan and we will see a strong second half.

Not if they take corners like that.

Typical England.....peaking too early...

They couldnt get Kane a 3rd penalty for the pure penalty hat-trick? You gotta dive harder than that Harry.

He’s so good he made it look as though he had no idea what happened for the third goal!

I havent really even been watching England's group because its a total joke.

England and Belgium, barring a monumental collapse were always going to be the ones going through, its just a matter of 'in what order' because Panama and Tunisia are pretty literally just there to make up the numbers.

Cant wait for the 48 team tournament.

Had to be disappointing for Senegal to concede just minutes after taking a lead. This will make match day 3 incredibly interesting for this group.

West Germany had the ‘collusion game’ in ‘82 where a German 1-0 win would have both them and Austria go through, so after they got the lead nobody on either team did anything.

It’s the game that resulted in the final group games being played at the same time.
