Zidansek wins the second set tie-break 7-2 and we're going the distance.

Bianca breaks and is serving for the match at 5-4 in set 3. Drawing tons of energy from the crowd.
Edit: Three wayward forehands and it's 5-5.

Then Andreescu breaks herself. 3 forehand errors after 30-15

Lots of 7's and 6's on the scoreboard - It looks like my golf scorecard.

I don't think she is in top form.

Absolutely not and I think going forward clay is her worst surface anyways.

Disappointing ending but it was nice to see her back on court battling and as GirlySports said clay is her worst surface. Everything should go into winning another US Open.
Medvedev with a win, hands up if you had him going further than Thiem at the French this year.
Also some young kid named Federer is looking pretty good so far.

How about some Canadian content to help pull me out of my melancholy mood - Jeff Healey playing some blues/jazz guitar.

Something is off with this whole series of events - if it was this big of a problem, she should have stepped away from the tour months ago. I'm all for mental health support and giving it high priority, but I'm not a fan of this display by Osaka at all.
This is a bad look and sends a really bad message that this is the way to go about your business.

while I completely agree with that and think that PCs are just part of the job description, I'll also say the threat of expulsion was a really dumb reaction by the Tour, especially when mental health is part of the issue. Just let her pay the fines if she doesn't want to do them ... shouln't be a big deal.
