Ugh... brutal. Just get it into the court.

I'm pretty sure that first let serve was in too, which would be number 5.

Yeah. That's gonna be hard to recover from.

Bad Shapo creeps back into the match. The senseless attempt to take a ball down the line that had next to no chance of landing was worse than the missed put away during his service game.

Hopefully he can still rally and take the set, otherwise he's let a huge opportunity slip.

Novak is tight as well though, he's missed several run of the mill rally balls today.

It's one of the most underrated aspects of the sport: shot selection. Denis picked a bad time to make some questionable choices.

At least it looks like he's back on track. Novak is good in tie-breaks, but not great.

If I'm Denis, now is the time to really go for it and see where the chips fall. Play that net on your serve.

I think he thought he hit what could have been a winner against anyone else and Djokovic got to it easily, and that threw him off. Should have just hit a forehand.

Just another brutal shot choice when he was off and running in the tie break. Neutral rally against Djokovic and you can't be tossing out low percentage baseline drop slices.

If you want to mix it up throw in some approaches. Denis is 8/11 at the net today.

Big key about closing this set is how poorly Novak is serving, barely above 50% so you know that's going to improve.

His return too. First half of the set hardly any of the first serves were coming back to Denis, now a lot of them are.

He's toast if doesn't start following some shots in. He's had multiple opportunities to move forward in this tie break and seems completely unwilling now.

Well now it's time to grind, Novak is going to come out early in the second looking to break Shapo's spirit. Gotta fight hard now and just survive into the middle of the set and then look to strike.
