I'm not sure I've ever seen someone save 6 straight break points in a 5th set... BUT THE 7TH IS THE CHARM COME ON DENIS

In this context that's actually a bad thing...
EDIT: What did I say about double faults at a bad time... sheesh. Denis "never makes it easy on himself" Shapovalov, ladies and gents.

22 years old and into a Wimbledon semi final. We are watching the maturation of a special player. He will be playing with house money on Friday.

Awesome!! Great job by Denis to keep it together in that fifth set and pull it out. Awesome tournament. Semis is an excellent result. Now time to get ready for Hamburg!

Hopefully builds some mental toughness for him. Seems like that is a big issue for many Canadian players.

Khachanov should have pulled a PCB and taken a MTO prior to the start of the 5th set.

Yeah I definitely would prefer Felix winning over Denis, Felix would have a real shot at the final regardless who he plays. Denis is obviously going home now.

we're often too hard on our guys for not consistenly making deep runs into every tournament, when that's not really what most other players do unless they're hall of famers. they are already on the right path to building the mental toughness needed, with so much runway in front of them, it's very exciting.
