Re the dual engagement:
Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where George and Jerry vow to make big changes because of the trivial reasons they keep rejecting women, and make a pact.
Both think about getting engaged, deep in thought on the pier. George goes ahead with it, and Jerry ends up not, for the trivial reasons.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that she is probably aware that Johnny is a professional hockey player, playing in Calgary for at least the near future when she agreed to marry him

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

It borders on creepy with how CP tries to get into the minds of people they don't know here.
I'd actually wager on Johnny being the first core player getting dealt even if he does genuinely want to stay here like he said, so it could very well be a non issue.
If not, this exact scenario has happened thousands of times with players in the league before and the couples have made it work. Part of being a player.

And if it makes sense for his life and marriage to move, go for it! He didn’t sign a contract for life with his blood.
