Re the dual engagement:
Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where George and Jerry vow to make big changes because of the trivial reasons they keep rejecting women, and make a pact.

Both think about getting engaged, deep in thought on the pier. George goes ahead with it, and Jerry ends up not, for the trivial reasons.

She probably loves her job but once they get married I suspect a career change will happen.

Why? If she loves what she does then she will continue to do so.

Is she getting married in the 1950s? Are NHL players suddenly being paid like NBA players? Are NHL careers now lasting 40 years?

I’m sure she can hardly wait to move to Calgary

Simple answer except for cross border qualifications and nursing cutbacks already happening.

She won’t have to. Buffalo or Newark maybe.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that she is probably aware that Johnny is a professional hockey player, playing in Calgary for at least the near future when she agreed to marry him

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

It borders on creepy with how CP tries to get into the minds of people they don't know here.

I'd actually wager on Johnny being the first core player getting dealt even if he does genuinely want to stay here like he said, so it could very well be a non issue.

If not, this exact scenario has happened thousands of times with players in the league before and the couples have made it work. Part of being a player.

Can we leave this crap out of here? Not everything has to be turned into Johnny leaving and dumping on Calgary.

And if it makes sense for his life and marriage to move, go for it! He didn’t sign a contract for life with his blood.

I think you'll find few spouses of NHL players work full-time. Especially once they start a family.
