Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2021 - Round 28
Welcome to the annual Calgarypuck Prospect Poll!
As per usual ...
1. Rank the prospects as you like. Upside, chances, or trade value
2. I will try and do one a day which should get us to rookie camp range
3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

Voted Boltmann. Probably influenced by recency bias.

At 24, Werner still has tremendous upside. He could ascend the depth chart more than any player still left on this list.

Went Sergeev again.
Promising to see at least 5 more names worth voting for at this stage

Boltmann is considered a defensive D man. Without watching him its hard to tell how well he is developing. The Flames have been good at drafting and Notre Dame is a good NCAA program, I trust the people there know what they were doing when they wanted him in their teams.

19 goals and tied for the Stockton's lead in goals his rookie season and tied for second on the team in his last Pro last season. I think Luke Philip should have slotted a few spots higher than he is going to be. Don't know why I care though...

Haha, that was me after the top 15 or so were voted for.
Weird that this year there seems to be more prospects on the radar.
Going back a few years, the average total prospect count was in the low 30's, now it's over 40.

I picked up the THN pool guide today which ranks the top prospects for each team. Here is their ranking with the comparison to ours in brackets.
1. Connor Zary (+1)
2. Jakob Pelletier (+1)
3. Matthew Coronato (-2)
4. Connor Mackey (+2)
5. William Stromgren (+3)
6. Emilio Pettersen (+10)
7. Dustin Wolf (-3)
8. Emil Heineman (+3)
9. Yan Kuznetzov (-1)
10. Jeremie Poirier (+3)
Appearing in our top 10 but not for THN:
Dan Vladar (#5) - perhaps not considered a prospect by them
Adam Ruzicka (#9)
Johannes Kinvall (#10)

Pettersen getting a lot of attention. He'll need a big year. For a smallish forward, I like his chances more than Phillips.

1-3 is pretty interchangeable, no?
Not much to differentiate between the three at this stage of their careers.

Zary is the prospect I am the highest on and least want to part with so I can understand why he is #1.
I think he will be a solid top 6 C who can drive a line.
Don’t know enough about Coronato but like that he is RHed…
Was hard to get a read on anyone in this years draft. I knew the top 9 were gonna be picked before us and after Sillinger got picked I had no clue who we should pick.
The top 10 skaters seemed pretty obvious, if you weren’t Ottawa, but outside that it seemed like a crapshoot.
