I think a salary cap would be a good idea IF it is easy to implement and manage. Another idea would be to have a certain number of players you can protect each season and then release the rest into a draft (in place of free agency) where the worst teams would pick first and the best teams last. You could probably manage something like that using a yahoo fantasy sports draft.

Team: Well since the Broncos are taken I'll go with the Eagles.
I have only played 2 games online and am 1-1, but it seems everyone still uses all the exploits like in recent years. I makes it boring when everyone always goes for it on 4th down, does toss plays or screens all the time and when playing D they just run around looking for picks. I think we should make a rule that you can't go for it on 4th down unless it makes sense, like 4th and inches or late in the game and you need to score.

I don't think that we should put limitations on 4th down because I'm a huge believe that it defeats the purpose of football coaching. It's the player risk to take on forth down, and the game AI is better enough that it isn't so easy to pull off on years past. Especially if it's a situation where it's not favorable to go for it on forth down.

I'll look to get this started up tomorrow evening then. Anymore more takers for the final 3 spots?
If it's gonna be such a small league, perhaps effort to put in a salary cap won't be necessary.

If everyone gets the invites completed I should set a date ASAP. Probably on a weekend afternoon if possible.

Alright, everyone has gotten an invite now. What would be a convenient date to get the fantasy draft started? I don't think you actually have to make it for the live draft. You can set your draft boards if you can't attend or stay, but I would like to find a date that can work for everyone if possible.
This Saturday afternoon or Sunday could be an option?

So as mentioned in PMs, the Fantasy Draft will be this Saturday at about 6PM. Don't forget you can do online frnachise from the EA website ( http://onlinefranchise.easports.com/) so you can do live draft from there or in game. If you cannot make the draft, be sure to set your draft boards so the CPU can pick according to your rankings for players.

So now that we got the season under the way I ask that when ever you guys complete a game to send a message to me on PSN to give me notice. Once everyone has gotten their games in, I'll advance the week.
Also I mentioned on the online franchise web app that there will be no CPU trades since the CPU AI currently has no trade logic.

I'm setting a time limit to get games in for 5 days. If within 5 days all games of the week aren't played, the week will be advanced causing your game to be simulated. Since we have 4 of our 5 games played within the past 3 days, that seems like a reasonable timeframe. If we continue to play games quickly, I may push the limit down to 3 days and we could be in playoffs by Mid October if not earlier.
If you guys want to post recaps of your games, I created a thread at the online franchise site app.
