So does Calvary have to win by two to force penalties?

I think they just need to win by 1 to force penalties...since it was a home goal for Forge last week.

It'd be awesome to make banners patronizing the league administration.

Outcomes where the Cavs win outright are
2-0
3-1
4-2
5-3
Outcomes that result in PK
1-0
Anything else would be a Forge win.
2-1 for the Cavalry would be the most heartbreaking result possible.

My feelings exactly. It’s getting to the point I’d rather watch the Cavs be in USL than have to deal with the corrupt sideshow of the CSA, Bob Young and the Forge cheerleaders in CanPL.
I renewed my tickets, but between this circus and the talks on kneecapping rosters with international pools and what not, next year might be the last.

Away goal counts right? So the Cavs have to win by 2.
And no 30 min extra time and go straight to PK if the aggregate is 1-1?
I can't follow what's going on as the league and CSA is making up rules on the go...

I'm gonna hold tight on my renewal. Got the reminder that my seats are held for another week.

Correct. Away goals count, and straight to penalties if tied after 90'.
So you're right - basically win by 2 or more is the easiest way to look at it.

The CanPL reminds me of that kid at recess who is constantly changing the rules to the game to ensure he wins. You know, that kid that claims he isnt hurt by pretend bullets because of his invincibility shield?

That's where I am at this point. I do want to renew, but I also think that things are lining up to be a farce.

I foresee the ref blowing the whistle right at 90 if Forge is winning, or adding 15 minutes to stoppage time if Forge needs to get a goal at the end...

I probably will renew. I really like the experience of Cavalry games, and while I'm upset at the league in some ways, I'm not upset at the club.

This is exactly it. I hope if anyone from the club reads this thread, or if the club reaches out to shermanator, that they realize that the league is the problem and not the club. It’s been surprisingly high level football, and the team is fantastic, but god, CanPL is such a clown show.

I'm not upset with the club either, and I do want to support them. The reason I bought tickets in the first place was that I think if we want these things we need to step up and support them. But that also contradicts my feeling on the league; what's the point of supporting a team if the league is going to actively push for one franchise to get all the breaks?

Another banner idea
Quote:
CSA: 4 months to review racism for Forge. No penalty
CSA: 2 days to review Forge Red Card for violent conduct. Rescinded
CSA: 2 days to review Cavalry Red Card/Penalty Shot. Stands. YET, IFAB disagrees.
CSA: IDIOTS

The banner would be wrong on the first point. The racist coach got a 45 day suspension. He's just not serving it yet since the appeal is also taking forever.

Also, that banner wouldn't see the light of day. Anything critical of the CSA, or the league, or even poking fun at other clubs gets confiscated.

After today's news, you just know Borges gets a goal so we basically need 3.

Breaking news out of the CSA offices: 2 crossbars in a Finals game is now equivalent to an extra goal, 3 and that goal is considered an away goal so it’s now 2-0 Forge with an away goal.
An absolute farce.
I don’t think my thoughts on the corruption and political motivation and overall favouritism behind the CSA need to be again repeated.
But if this isn’t exhibit 1a of that in action, don’t know what is.
On and on Wheeler went during the game on about the Forge’s coach day job running of powerhouse of a club and academy, as if it was Bayern Munich’s program in pumping out international talent. With Ontario centric CSA, most cutting their political backstabbing teeth coming up through the Ontario Soccer Association in the first place, and being supported by the power brokers in the OSA, there is no way they want to risk any bad vibes by pissing off a supposed pipeline academy’s leader by sending off his best Pro player, nevermind the defacto governor of the league and that usual narrative.
CSA bullied the CPL here, and as I maintain from above, they will continue to do so when it serves their best interests, and then they step out when it doesn’t (see the Ottawa situation where they stayed quiet, and the racial issue which they drug out as long as possible).
And, take out and keep out arguably the Cavs most consistent and dynamic center back...The CPL,CSA and Forge have to assume that it will help the Forge get 1 away goal for Forge is going to be enough to win it all, as the Cavs getting 3 will be tough and 3 goals can be also managed by the game officials.
Saturday, the screw job continues, I predict a dubious Forge penalty at some point, Cavs get two, and at least one more called back off via offside. Potentially a late Forge goal as the Cavs press everyone up.
