I went back to the reception. Totally in shock and angry. My only solace came at the hands of a huge Leafs fan at the same wedding.
He was convinced the Leafs were gonna win the McDavid lottery, thought the fix was in with the league. He knew I went back to my room to check. When I returned I let him think the Leafs had in fact won McDavid for about 90 seconds. Should have seen him celebrate like a maniac.
Then I crushed his soul.
I know, dick move. Like I said, Leafs fan - who cares.

Puljujarvi's development is really one of the most surprising things to me. He absolutely dominated the 2016 World Juniors like few players ever have. I thought he'd be an absolute superstar.
If he really doesn't become an NHL regular, I can't recall a player with a better performance in the WJC that fell as flat as he did.
He's the youngest player on that list after Gretzky.

Seriously? I have been laughing my ass off since McDoorbell’s first game at the fact that the Oilers have very possibly drafted one of the best players of this generation and they are still terrible. Hell, not only are they an awful team, but there doesn’t appear to be much hope that they will get any better any time soon.
Cheer up. Edmonton is no good, and McDimple cannot save the Oilers.
No one can.

Marty Murray was the best forward in the 1995 WJC and went on to score 31 NHL goals in his career. At least he was just a fourth rounder.

Cody Hodgson also fell out of the NHL pretty quickly. Though, he had more of an impact than Puljujarvi has to this point.

So poolparty passed to Laine 12 times and someone banked 5 in off his skate?

Aberg has 4 goals with the Ducks in the past 2 games since being bumped to the top line. Would be hilarious if another Oiler got out of Edmonton and started playing well. Even if it is with the Ducks.

Heh yeah me too. I was pretty disappointed, even angry, when the Oilers got him. Just another example of why I shouldn't ever take my own opinions too seriously!

Thought it was odd at the time when Columbus GM Jarmo Kekalainen passed on him and took Dubois with the 3rd pick. He knows Finnish hockey and Finnish hockey players well. Jarmo must have known something others didn't.

The Oilers have two good players. One plays centre; one plays goal.
One has started ten of the Oilers eleven games, and has racked up a dizzying 597:30 of ice time—second behind only NYR's Henrik Lundqvist, who has also played ten games, but also has had an additional game of rest.
The other player, the centre, has played 259:32, ranking him 44th in the NHL in ice time, 7th of all players with a maximum 11 games played, and 28th in TOI/GP. However, he ranks first in TOI/GP among all forwards with 23:36, and is one of only two forwards to have played in more than 23 mins per game.
The Oilers have two good players. One plays centre; one plays goal, and the Oilers are running them both into the ground.
