I’m 100% in favour of them trying to double shift him all night, every night. That said, if he can actually do that and be effective the drug testing program should be there every second day as well.

A bit off topic. But what was Calgary's pitch for Lindros? I believe we made one. Just can't remember the players that were involved.
"edit" found it.. https://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=90018

I have never heard anything indicating we made an offer.

With cloning technology as it is, how long before they decide to just produce copies of McDavid and have an entire team of McDavids?

Yup, that was McLellan’s downfall. He apparently wasn’t playing McDavid enough.
I challenge Hitch to play him for 30 minutes a night. We could see if he could become the first player in NHL history to literally drop dead from exhaustion...

I just heard him say that on Primetime as well.
Really it just makes sense...
Don’t we all drive our car as fast as we possibly can all the time. Then when we’re at a red light we just floor it and rev the engine to its max because... we can as the vehicle is driving fine.
When it breaks down then we all just blame the guy who changed the oil, bad gas, or bad roads.
It’s quite simple and logical really. These are impressive machines.
Really it’s a perfect situation. Let them ride him like a rented mule in order to be a playoff bubble team. Let them play him every game because it’s like the playoffs.
This is the epitome of the statement:
“Just because you CAN do something, doesn’t mean you SHOULD.”
I think if they start going full on “stank for the tank” again and essentially ask McMuffin to start losing then he’ll want out.
It’s a delightful situation.

Hitch thinks it’s NHL 19 and he can just turn off line changes so Mcdavid’s stamina/fatigue permanently stays at max.

It just reeks of Katz involvement. I can't imagine a competent coach playing a centre every other shift. It also cuts the legs out from hitch to press hard on him in the d zone. You think he can play hard defensive hockey and be a super star in the ozone relentlessly for half the game based on.... What exactly? Your viewing of him for a game. As soon as he floats because he simply has to and does already with his already too much ice time, it kills this "uncomfortable" accountability that hitch peaches.
Hitchcock is just another stooge who's been sold a bill of goods looking for that final stab at glory.

Guys, we're losing perspective here, they can play him that much because about 12 minutes out of his 24 he lazily skates around in the neutral zone or does don't hit me fly bys in his own end.

No offense, Trout, but I'm not sure that "Give McDavid the puck more" and "Give McDavid every other shift are particularly "secret" strategies on that poor excuse of a franchise!

I haven't been following much but what happened to GG after Todd McLellan was let go? Was he kept on staff or released as well?

Because he’s smarter than everyone else in the NHL surrounded by the smartest organization in the NHL.
If you question this, take it up with Kevin Lowe. He knows winning.

Straight from HF:
“They're most likely ****ting their pants now that the Oilers hired the #3 winningest coach and can solve the Oilers structure problems whereas their prized hire has never finished higher than 6th in his division as a NHL coach. The annual Calgary collapse is coming. They've had a kitten soft schedule so far and they're still losing to the better teams in the league and barely beating the teams below them.
Tonight will speak volumes to where they are at. I'm predicting a 5-3 Jets win.”
Even better is Oiler fans being triggered by our thread about all their no goodness in their around the league thread. It’s truly glorious, it’s almost like they don’t realize this thread is meant to do just that.
