Default Flames 1 Kings 0

Game Takes:
Flames 1 Kings 0

Sorry for the delay, had to catch up the game late after my daughter's game.

- Rittich posts his first career shut out
- Third Line dominant but can't finish
- James Neal not working on 2nd line
- Flames give up little to Kings
- Hamonic's best game as a Flame

Thanks for posting the win percentage at the bottom. So much more meaningful than the record or pts. 7th overall is pretty good!

Can’t imagine why they go back to Smith. Dude hasn’t looked good in 9 months. It’s over. If he was a rookie he’d be in the minors. You don’t get “better” at the age of 36.

Great write-up as usual. I looked but couldn't find the total high-danger chances against? I've liked that recent inclusion since the game that shall not be named.

Please let us see Neal on the Bennett Frolik line and put Ryan somewhere else.

Only six against in five on five play, ten overall

Makes 7 games in a row where the Flames are playing a sustainable playoff damage creating style of game.

I thought last night was Ryan's best game as a Flame

No, you don't get 'better'. But the level of one's game still ebbs and flows. We don't need Smith to suddenly become better than he has ever been before, we simply need him to get going again and get some confidence back.

No one is at the top of their game all the time. Coaches need to manage players. The Flames need Smith to get going.
