Sharks Shake Things Up

The Sharks are off to one of their best starts in recent memory but that didn’t stop the trades. Winning some very close games early was good but a big concern was the lack of scoring that lead to sending Crosby and Wheeler to the Penguins in exchange for Kane and Tarasenko. That trade seemed spark the Sharks A’s they kept winning and did so by scoring more goals. Getting rid of that toxic Sid Crosby was step #1.

Fast forward to last night when a couple of deals were made. Tarasenko has been bad since coming to the Sharks and just can’t seem to get it going. We decided to upgrade at the C position so we acquired Stastny from the Jackets. Stastny gives us a legit 1/2 C and has shown he can score in the sim and is exactly the type of player we were looking for.

Following the acquisition of Stastny, we decided to throw out an offer to Dallas to see if there was interest there in acquiring his services. We only had 1 guy in mind, and that was Jamie Benn.

In a historic moment and after many years, the Stars and Sharks agreed to a deal that saw Tarasenko head to Dallas in exchange for Jamie Benn.

We like the start we have had but we think we can be a little better. The thumping today vs the Wild showed us that even though we are good, we need to be better.
