There is now a Spider-man remaster for the PS5 so if you haven't played that, that plus Miles Morales would be a good call. Also Guardians of the Galaxy is a good bet for a teenager.

The one thing I would say is that the entire game is about building an effective squad. Turn that Mic on so you can communicate with your squad/squad leader and work your way across the battlefield!

So it's all online co-op work?
No single player campaign?

Doom 2016 had mediocre reviews and little fanfare when it came out...I barely even knew about it.
One of the best games of the last decade for me, eternal too
Uh, no, Doom 2016 reviewed very well and was huge when it came out. It has an 85 Metacritic and apparently received 37 "Game of the Year" awards from various outlets: https://www.gameawards.net/2020/09/2016.html

Yup, my wife, who last picked up a video game controller around the time of the SNES, really enjoyed playing "It Takes Two" with me... great couch co-op game.
I picked up Stellaris and all the expansions over Christmas, I can't say enough about how deep this game is and once you start figuring things out how much fun it is.

I should have said more mixed reviews, many of the early ones were lower than they should have been IMO. Hype kinda grew over time, that is how I remember it anyway.
It got a 7 on IGN, which isn't terrible but its a 9+ for me
"game of the year" well there are 20 games with a higher than 85 on metacritic for 2016. Game should have been up there in the 90s with the likes of Uncharted 4 and the Witcher
Finally started playing Horizon Zero Dawn and, as you all already know, it’s awesome. But wow it’s pretty challenging! I have died a million times. Stoked for the new one coming out pretty soon!!
Finally playing through Hades now. What an incredible game. I saw how highly it was rated, including top 13 [!] on the IGN top 100 game list. Hadn't played it yet so I haa chuckle when I saw how high it was on the list, especially compared to some of the all-time great games.
Took a couple hours to figure it out, but once it gets going, wow. Unreal game. We'll see if it's worthy of that ranking when it's all said and done. But either way, I find myself thinking about the game all the time.
A relatively simple concept, yet executed perfectly. Great graphics, voice acting, great fighting system and cool story that slowly but surely reveals itself. After sludging through Far Cry 6 the past month, this has been a nice fun change of pace.
I played the Triangle Strategy demo, it was amazing. This game is everything I've been waiting for since the FFT/TO days.
Can't wait for this game to come out.

I haven’t really played my switch much since the Series X and PS5 released, but with 10 long flights over the next 5 months or so I figured I would take advantage of the E-Shop New Years sale and grab some games at a discount. I went with:
Tony Hawk
Crash 1-4
Disco Elysium
Lego Harry Potter
Lego Marvel Superheroes 2
Lego DC Villians
Bioshock Infinite
Doki Doki Literature Club
I didn’t grab Hades, but I have that sitting on my Series X ready to go. It hasn’t hooked me yet.
I find some games are just better suited for handheld. It’s almost as if my game preferences change completely from the home consoles to the switch. Excited to dig into these!
After sitting on it for a couple weeks, I wanted to provide a brief spoiler-free review of FFXIV: Endwalker.
Pros
+ I feel like they managed to stick the landing with wrapping up a story that started at A Realm Reborn
+ Satisfying conclusion that really drives home that you, The Warrior of Light, are the center of the story
+ Plenty of great surprises and emotional moments
+ Amazing soundtrack
+ Great boss fights
Cons
- Stealth following missions suck
- The sections of the main scenario that are intended to give you a breather from the intensity of the story are really boring and tedious
- A 60 second loop of a song that plays for an hour long stretch of the game drove me to turn off the music for a bit
- You need to devote 200 hours of your time to be able to enjoy this expansion
Overall, if you can put FFXIV and its expansions into one whole piece, it's probably the best mainline Final Fantasy story in a long time. I would rank Shadowbringers as a better expansion than Endwalker, but it's still very good.
