Thanks for the feedback, I'll raise this.

On that website it does say: "The Code applies to all contracts for retail mobile wireless voice and data services providers and the businesses or individuals that pay for their services."

Which seems to explicitly state this is the case for both businesses and consumers.

Does anyone know if the sim card (after the 30 days) can be reactivated on future trips?
I have the 3-in-1 T-Mobile sim for US roaming. It's great.

Activation is $3 for 30 days. That includes 30 air minutes/texts.

Then, $10 for 1GB valid over 1 week.

Yes, it can be reactivated. I reactivate it whenever I go to the States, then let it lie dormant the other months

Where can I get this? What's the plan called, I don't see that anywhere on Tmobile site?

[EDIT] I am blind - I see the $10 for 1GB plan now, sorry! Now I just need to figure out where best to buy the SIM and activate. [/EDIT]

I use Roam Mobility when I go to the US and it works well, I think their plans start at around $2/day

I found it at Walmart in the States. I've heard it can be ordered online

Bump. The roam mobility rates look awful
https://roammobility.com/data-plans

I'm going to be in Los Angeles for 5 days with 7 friends. So far I think the best option I've found is:

-Buy AOW SIM card for $10 CAD https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX68302
-Use their $2.99 USD/day 500mb option https://alwaysonlinewireless.com/plans#our-plans
-Use this SIM in a non-primary phone and leave tether on
-Wifi off phones. Probably get 2 of these for the 8 of us, so 4 devices / 1 SIM. See: https://support.alwaysonlinewireless...ring-included-

Cost: $10+$15USD = ~$30CAD / 5 days. Even with sharing this among 2 people / SIM still seems cheaper than Roam-Like-Home.

My travel isn't until May Long but I wanna hop on this while the SIM is still on sale at MemEx until next week. So unless someone else can recommend a cheaper option...

Click on the Daily Plans tab. They have a 512mb of LTE per day for $5 plan. Plus, you get unlimited talk/text. Seems easier/cheaper, no?

Roam Like Home is $6/day in the US so 5 days would be $30. You can do all the same tethering you want if someone else is too cheap to buy their own. That's without the hassle of going to Memory Express and setting up a new wireless plan.

Edit: This is Rogers deal. The Roam Daily Play is even better.

I have used Roam Mobility on short trips, and the daily talk+text+data is the way to go for $4.95/day.

That being said, Fido Roam (similar to Rogers Roam Like Home, I believe) is now an optional add-on on my plan, and for $6/day is pretty damn good actually.

One caveat with Roam Mobility is that their sims expire after 6 months (they shortened it a couple of years ago). There is a trick to keep a small plan active on your account and keep rolling it forward before it expires (you can schedule them for the future). I know that $10 isn't exactly a bank breaker, but it does leave a bad taste that they have to expire at all.

Honestly, I think that on my next trip I'll probably just use Fido Roam as it will let me keep my current number active because I won't have to pull out the sim.

I think that my next trip will be to Europe, however, and $12/day is robbery. So I'll be exploring my options as the summer gets nearer.

Reasons why I listed what I had above:
-We have zero need for talk/text since we're planning on communicating solely via Whatsapp
-Roam-Like-Home uses the same data bucket as your local plan AFAIK

I just learned something new - Always Online Wireless is actually a brand of Roam Mobility. Interesting.

Thanks for the heads up for AOW. Looked into it and decided to grab a sim for $10 at memex. Needing calling is getting so rare, and with whatsapp and the vonage app for that if I need it, this seems like a way better deal.
