Manoah threw fire that inning, striking out 3 of 4 (and the other he had 0-2 then hit him on the foot)

Yikes, sounding like a career altering injury for Trout.

Judge is having one of the great contract years ever. Yankees obviously regretting not locking him in before the season, he is gonna make them, or someone else, pay big time.

@JeffPassan:
BREAKING: The Brewers are trading star reliever Josh Hader to the Padres, a source tells ESPN
The return on Josh Hader to Milwaukee is significant: left-handed closer Taylor Rogers, lefty pitching prospect Robert Gasser, outfielder Esteury Ruiz and right-hander Dinelson Lamet, sources tell ESPN. Hader will be a free agent after the 2023 season.

Rogers has actually been better than Hader this season, but he's older, a free agent after this season adn Hader is....well, Josh Hader.
Quite the move for the Brewers though.

I have to think that the Padres covet Haders 15.6 K/9 come October when teams will tend to leverage bullpens lot more.

Interesting return. Rogers and Lamet are both 30+. Ruiz is an interesting young player (28th best prospect according to MLB.com), and Robert Gasser was their 7th best prospect (according to MLB.com) and is putting up OK numbers in high A as a 23 year old.
Honestly seems like a pretty middling return for a guy still putting up 15.6 K/9.

Is this a money thing then? Does seem like an odd move, especially when they are leading the division.

Christian Vázquez traded to the Astros.
It's not a trade, but Atlanta has made a splash as they've signed Austin Riley to a 10-year, $212 million extension.

Juan Soto traded to the Padres.
JeffPassan:
The package going back to Washington for Juan Soto and Josh Bell, sources tell ESPN:
- LHP MacKenzie Gore
- OF Robert Hassell III
- SS C.J. Abrams
- OF James Wood
- RHP Jarlin Susana
- one more major league player
That's the only holdup right now to the agreed-upon deal.
