If we've learned anything from Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul, no detail is by accident.

Quiet but still solid episode, they're laying out the groundwork for the next few episodes. It flew by fast. Some nice comedic moments too.
Kim finally meets Mike.
We see the beginning of Saul's growing reputation as a criminal lawyer
It was cool to see the background of Gus' operation, it's no wonder why Walt couldn't touch him when he went to his house in BB
Lalo has gone MIA, haven't seen him since episode 1

Yes. Saul even tells Walt in Breaking Bad after Spoog dies that he was his client.

I laughed at the BMW, and also noticed Gus drives a Volvo, which totally suits he's cautious persona. They don't miss a detail.

So after BCS ends I'm going to have to do a re-watch of Breaking Bad because I'm so invested in this universe again. And after that I'm going to have to do a rewatch of BCS in it's entirety to see all of the subtle clues and connections to BB that I missed the first time

Every episode is as satisfying as a decent feature film.
Kudos to Sony and AMC for letting Vince Gilligan do his thing and funding such a slow building masterpiece.
BB and BCS are in a league of their own in my best long running tv series list. Game of Thrones could have been in that conversation until it went to crap. I can't even think of anything else that rivals these series.

The Wire, Sopranos, and Barry are the ones I'd put on the same level

Was in Toronto when this season came out so had to catch up when I got back to Vancouver on my PVR. This series never disappoints. Fantastic stories and great acting. I'm in love with Kim and her undying support of Saul, but Nacho...

Better Call Saul - New TV Series 2014
I haven’t seen many series though that utilize Chekhov’s gun so much, but pull it off without it feeling like they’re shoehorning it in.

There was one detail in Episode 4, which did not make any sense to me:

Fun fact, I've met Giancarlo Esposito (actor playing Gus) a few years ago in the elevator of the Palliser Hotel here in Calgary. The guy is barely 5-ft tall.

did he adjust his tie before walking out of the elevator?

No tie. Jeans, open-collar shirt, cowboy boots and a bright-colour cap. He was like a complete opposite to his BB character appearance. Giggly, winking, smiling. He noticed my "I've seen this guy somewhere"-look and immediately said "Yes, it's me". I said, "You gotta give me more than that, man". And then he got all mock-offended and said "Breaking Bad, no?" Then, of course, it was my turn to become embarrassed for not recognizing him right away. Then he told me that he was in town for both fun and business, thanked me for not asking to take a selfie with him like everyone else and that was it.

Sounds like he fooled you with his charming persona. Were there any un-explained deaths in the hotel that day?

Episode 5 "Black and Blue". Another setting-up-the-midseason-finale type episode. Lalo is back and, boy, he is fine form. Did not see that coming.

Looks like Gus is gonna lead Lalo into a trap inside the lab. And Howard having a PI track Jimmy might backfire if it gets him tangled up with the cartel.
Can't wait for the payoff of these episodes, it's gonna be insane.
