I'm pretty sure everyone has this.
Based on evolution, it's a rational fear to have.

I made the mistake of watching the The Bridge before walking the GG. It’s an interesting feeling looking over that railing.

Unscrewing tight lids off of glass containers. I always envision them exploding in my hand, especially the cold ones out of the fridge. Then naturally the glass slices all of the tendons and veins in my hands.

It used to be puddles. Like, what if that puddle is actually a massive person-swallowing pit or there is an open manhole under that, filled up all the way with water?

I’m afraid of electric sockets in general. I hate plugging things in.

I did arc welding a few years ago and the electricity thing scared me. But it was so fascinating and absorbing that I managed to put the fear aside.

Utmost respect for any of you welders out there. A good bead is a work
of art and a thing of beauty.

I always felt like an alchemist in the welding booth.

Seems there are a lot of irrational fears around these parts. I look forward to a sponsorship by a registered psychologist.

To this day I'm convinced that there's a huge assignment we were told about at the beginning of the semester that never became a thing. I still dream that I was supposed to hand it in and didn't and I'm going to lose my certification. It's been over a decade now.

Not totally irrational. I had a buddy over for some beers in high school and he leaned up against our deck railing about 6ft up and it gave way as he leaned against it.

It was however absolutely hilarious.

Trypophobia - Holy ####ing #### that's a thing!? My piano teacher used to have a stupid plastic plant like that that creeped me right the #### out. Didn't know it was a thing. Kind of glad it is.

My other two:

Sneezing and getting into a car accident. Which I thought was irrational until about 5 years ago when I found out my pops drove off an on-ramp that way.

The Jaws movie poster. Not the movie. Not sharks. Not swimming. Just the poster.

I watched that film also. I couldn't believe they included some clips where actual people jumped of fthe bridge to their deaths. The image of the guy with the long black hair, sunglasses and leather jacket still haunts to this day

I was 5 years old at the time when a friend and I ventured onto a nearby construction site. There was this pit that was filled with water. He got to close to the edge and slipped, landing on a narrow ledge. He was terrified he was going to fall in and drown and so was I. I didn't leave him until the fire department came and rescued him.

Hmm. Interesting. Never knew this was a thing.

It's was unsettling to look at for the first 15 seconds. But quickly got accustomed to those images. Still kinda creepy tho.

It helped to find out the genesis of the name and how a critic said the band went over like a led zeppelin.
I had a mad crush on the part of Led Zeppelin known as Jimmy Page.

Or if you were pregnant. That would do it too.

Pumas. Those construction tunnels are dark and dim, perfect for pumas with their superior low-light-vision to get the jump on you. You'd never even see it coming.

See, this is for IRRATIONAL fears. The fact you have this fear demonstrates you are, in fact, very rational.
