Dallas has lost six straight. I think it's entirely possible the Flames catch them soon for the #5 spot in the West.

I wouldnt be surprised to see Nashville steal their #3 spot in the division by seasons end.

I’d worry more about Calgary hanging onto a playoff spot.

Based on winning percentage, Calgary is in the last wild card spot, and with two teams basically a point behind (when factoring in games in hand). Remember that Calgary loses the tiebreaker to everyone.

If Dallas plays even .500 from here on out ( and only 3 teams in the West plays less than that), Calgary needs to go 8-3-1 to catch them). Only Boston in the NHL is playing at that pace this year.

Agreed. If the Flames lose against the Islanders it's likely they will be 9th after the evening is done. 5th in the conference is pie in the sky fantasy at this stage as they have better odds of missing the playoffs.
