Boy oh boy is this going to be some bad radio. I can see they can get a radio show tomorrow, but what are they going to talk about on Monday? It will be painful. The afternoon show was struggling and seemed to be mostly about burgers. They may get a show out of pizza, another for wings and maybe steak. Possibly a show on beer. Then what? Circle back on burgers or just go to dead air?

Well, the morning show gets accused of not talking sports and dicking around too much, so they should be fine. It’ll be business as usual.

Love is Blind talk on the morning show with Stajan. We’ve reached peak Covid sports talk radio.
Stajan had some good stories this morning about Germany. Although he’s not quite as good a speaker as a guy like Krahn.

I think they've done pretty well and been pretty candid about basically not having any material but needing to keep the show going. It's a silly wake-up anyway, it's never been a "serious sports talk" kind of show, it's more about the personalities of the people in the booth, and thank god Krahn is there or it really would be 3 hours of nothing.

Random question, did Warrener ever address why he didn't get into the celebration after Gelinas OT winner vs Detroit? It's always stood out to me.

At 0:25 you can see him kind of slowly get off the bench, then at 0:57 can see him standing off from the pile. Maybe he was taking it all in? Just curious.

Interesting observation.
My take on 57 seconds, he’s being a leader and starting the handshake line.

Warrener was held together by duct tape and spit by that point, was probably afraid to get more injured in that pile.
If Regehr hadn't broken his foot and Donovan lasted until the final round we would've won definitively.

Yeah, every time he's on there, I can see why him and Boomer would've made a good pairing. Boom needs someone who can get under his skin a bit haha. I'm sad I moved back here a couple years after Walks moved on.

As I understand it, Warrener was very conscious of celebrating early. He had been to the finals and lost before and knew it meant nothing if you didn't go all the way. IIRC anyways.

Think he also does radio hits for TSN, and they signed him to be exclusive to them over Sportsnet

He's said in the past (not on radio, I have rarely if ever listened to him on radio) that he didn't want to be a big celebrator until they won. Said he got too hyped when he played Buffalo one year and they had the playoff run that fell short and felt silly afterwards.
Him throwing the helmet down the bench at Sutter after Detroit OT in 2004 is funny, Sutter giving him a fist pump.
And, he stands feet away from McCarty after 2006 Game 1 OT winning goal.
He stayed out of the scrum in Vancouver too Game 7.

It’s heart breaking hearing him talk about not winning the cup
It clearly stills eats him up to come that close three times

My bad, I jumped straight from a convo about Gelinas, saw the part about 3 Cup Final losses and got it confused haha
