Default The MMA Thread v2

Since we usually have a PPV one, I'd love to have a decided thread for those MMA fans here that follow it.

Don't know if anyone check in on the rumoured fights on MMAweekly.com, but they are usually bang on with there stuff. UFC 68 rumours Jason McDonald to be fighting former middleweight champ Rich Franklin next. MacDonald wanted a step up, looks like he has one.. huge test for both he and Franklin.

As noted before GSP is off the UFC 67 thread.. but it still looks good.
Cro Cop vs Sanchez
Anderson Silva vs Lutter for the Middleweight title
Quinton Jackson vs Marvin Eastmen
Also on the card are lightweight contenders Tyson Griffen and Melvin Guillard.

I'm the same. I hope he wins a few so the hype can really explode. The company needs it right now as they continue to transition from the old stable of big names.

Great fights so far. Probably the best overall event I have ever purchased.

Yeah just awesome! I was really pulling for Rory in that last fight, but it was still amazing.

Dammit Rory. Thought he had Lawler late in the third but he just couldn't finish him. Heck of a fight though. Not much humility from Lawlor at the end though.

Holy Crap! Did Mendes gas himself with his ground and pound?

Mendes blew it big time but I didn't expect him to win anyway. Atleast McGregor's takedown defense got exposed and hopefully Aldo takes advantage of that.

Yeah, I saw that. Just looked like Mendes was gassed (no defence at all) once they got back to their feet.

Mendes could have stayed in Connors guard, dropping elbows on him until the round was over, but instead passed and went for the guillotine finish. He missed, and full credit to Mcgregor for making Mendes pay with what little time was left.

Mendes looked pretty winded from all the body shots he had been taking.

I'm impressed how McGregor didn't look tired at all after the constant elbows and surviving the guillotine... and just stood up and went after Chad right away. That straight left ain't no joke.

Just finished watching the PPV (was in the mountains all weekend).

What an amazing night, crazy fights all around!
