What an epic ####ing collapse by the Islanders. Up 3-1 about halfway through the 3rd, lose 5-3.

This series is already over. There's no way the Isles can overcome that kind of mental trauma. They've lost all their confidence, knowing they played well enough to win both of the first two games, and still lost both.

I'll be surprised if they even win a game in the series now. There's no coming back from that.

12 shots in net is good enough ? Most teams get that in a period.

Wow, and I thought the Preds looked bad coughing up a lead in the third yesterday.

The Isles were not quite as pathetic as the Oilers' notorious choke job in the Miracle on Manchester, but damned close.

They were still in control of the game in the 3rd. They did play well enough in game 1. This is more of a score effect game when a team goes up by 3 early. It is on them that they let a collapse happen in the 3rd, but they were in full control and gave the game away.

They aren’t good. 5 shots on net for a period and half is brutal no matter what the score is.

A good strong Carolina team is important. Healthy and rested to help stop the unthinkable from happening.

It was 3-0!

Yesterday the Nucks went from trailing to winning in 12s. Today the Canes did the same in 9s.

You have to think New York is going to go with Sorokin in Game 3. That's a lot of talent to leave on the bench and wonder what might have been.

The Hurricanes are a team that will keep pushing and eventually they broke thru. The Metro Division is going make the NHL think about the NBA style schedule where the Canes and Rangers start round 2 before the first one I'd finished. Otherwise they'll both be off for like 8 days.

That Isles performance pretty much sums up their inconsistency since Roy took over.

Blowing the lead or not getting very many shots? I haven’t watched any of their regular season games. Carolina is elite at shot suppression though, so I don’t fault them for that.

Shot attempts were 110-28. Islanders can feel bad for losing the lead but no way should they be thinking they played well enough to win.

Coach Roy should have, could have, and would have started Varlamov in net.
