Watched the premiere and it’s a terrific show. I hope I can find it without subscribing to another service but it’s one of the best programs going.

It’s the origin series to Yellowstone. 4 episodes in and so far pretty darn good. It’s exclusive to Paramount+ unlike Yellowstone which can be found on Prime. We took our fire stick with us to Cancun and couldn’t get it there on Paramount because of region restrictions but then found it on 123movies. Played back great there too

The first few episodes have been excellent. I'm a big Yellowstone fan, but this series might surpass it. The gorgeous cinematography alone is worth a watch, and the story and acting are both terrific.

Paramount+ which used to be CBS all access in the US, not sure about Canada.
I've been wondering if it is worth checking out. Yellowstone kind of turned me off with a cheesy 4th season that seemed more about trying to sell the other Yellowstone sequel with fancy horses.

Now I'm curious if it is actually available to legally watch in Canada.
I think its fantastic, and does a great job at setting up some amazing storylines.
They haven't even left Texas yet and the goal is Oregon? So much to explore.
For those thinking it is anything like Yellowstone, it is not. This is a LOT better.

So is everyone watching 1883 subscribed to Paramount +? I really don't think I can stomach yet another streaming service...

I could be wrong but I'm certain I've recorded the first ~3 hours of the show that is out so far. I have Shaw and the Paramount+ channel I recorded just came with the standard package as far as I can tell.

I think the first few episodes are on the Paramount Channel but all the other episodes going forward will require a subscription to watch.

Love the show. Only thing that drives me nuts is Elsa's cowboy love interest has blatant veneers.

The only thing it has in common with Yellowstone is the Dutton name (the series involves John's great grandparents). Otherwise you would never know it was a spinoff. If that's holding you or anyone else away from watching it you can rest assured.
It's 10 times the show Yellowstone is, and I like Yellowstone.

Episode 5 was amazing.
But now I'm worried by the time they make it to Oregon nobody will be alive.

EP6 seemed like it was going to be just okay but then it draws you until you forget where you are.

Yeah I went from “whoa this show sounds great” to “what the #### is paramount +” pretty quickly. Damn. This is why I’m seven years behind on everything. I’ll write it down.

It's actually a somewhat useful platform in the US. It shows all the non-US home CONCACAF games, CBS feed including NFL and march madness, other European soccer, Comedy central shows, new Star Treks and has a discounted bundle price with Showtime. I'd imagine a lot of those things aren't on the Canadian version though.

Season 2 is confirmed.
And another very creatively named sequel to the prequel named 1932 was announced.

I'm enjoying this show. I find Elsa's narration a little much though.
