Depends on how big Tim's ego is. If he gets his back up about being told what to do even if Bylsma sucks, then i guess you could have a remote scenario where Eichel is on the block.

That team should have been way better than they were this year. I expected them to be doing what the Leafs are doing right now.

I remember Lehner flipped out on Bylsma during a Leafs regular season game so I could see this being the feeling in the dressing room.

Too bad Vegas already signed Gallant because he would have been a good fit in Buffalo.

Yup the Flames add but I wouldn't want to add much. Our 17th pick and prospect like Klimchuck?

I love Gaudreau but to get Eichel to go head to head with McDavid would be too good to pass up.

I could see ownership getting involved and gutting the whole management staff. Buffalo sufferers to get Eichel they won't let him go in favor of the GM that tanked or the coach that has not moved the team far enough forward.

Not alone, he doesn't.

I don't think Buffalo trades him for less than Gaudreau, Backlund, + ~17th overall pick.

He's still under contract for next season. If this is true, he's just saying he won't sign his next contract a year early and will wait until the end of next season to sign.

It really doesn't change anything unless the Sabres overreact to it.

It's not like there's any danger of him holding out and missing any time next season.

Sounds like a frustrated kid to me. He's probably not in love with his coach plus he's gotta be dealing with some selfish players if he made the year end statement that he made. Evander Kane can push a lot of people to their limits I'm guessing.

If Eichel gets moved I see a deal with the Avs for Mackinnon with Colorado taking back a bad contract or toss in some picks?

I heard a rumor that Mackinnon was no longer untouchable either. Pretty sure HF has been talking about it

Yeah I think Mackinnon for Eichel makes a ton of sense. Mac desperately needs a change. If he reaches his ceiling, he's the best player in his draft class. But he'll never get there playing for the Avs. Avs will probably have to add a bit.

I wouldn't like it though. Eichel would be an RFA who is under control by the Sabres. Teams are supposed to be in control of players at that age. Trade him away because of coaching disagreements, and it sets a horrible precedent for future players. Personally I'd rather see Eichel sit then Murray give in to his demands.

I'd be utterly shocked if Eichel went anywhere. That organisation tanked so hard to get him losing him would be catastrophic. The only player better than him even near that draft year was McDavid, a trade for him would take a king's ransom IMO.

I don't like a young player coming out like this and making an ultimatum but there's been rumblings for a while and Blysma wasn't overly popular in the Penguins dressing room in his last two seasons. He did some good work as coach of the Penguins but it's beginning to look like he's not a very good NHL head coach. Absolutely no way Eichel is traded.

I admit that I havent seen him play, but I remember seeing some stats that after coming back from his injury and getting back into game shape he was going point for point with Mcdavid. If it wasn't for wallowing in Hockey purgatory in Buffalo, he might have received some attention for that.

Tim probably will say he was going to fire Bylsma anyway and Eichel had no influence (right).

I would do Gaudreau + 2017 17th overall pick + Mark Jankowski for Eichel and 2017 2nd round pick

Quality over quantity.

agreed. buffalo would NEVER trade him, but if they were, i'd be fine of any kind of package like:
Monahan or Gaudreau
+ Jankowski OR Kylington OR Hickey OR Andersson
+ 17th overall

Guy is a game breaker still on an ELC. Altough the injury didn't help to make the case, but he's in that Austin Mathews tier of young elite players.

Has Jankowski become the new Hanowski for every "This trade needs a low value asset added to it to make it look better" fake trade proposal?
