The match didnt really live up to its billing, but they rarely do, it still had its moments and you cant really complain about the result.

Fernandinho is a really hot and cold player. There are periods when hes unplayable and periods where hes just an idiot.

He probably should have been sent off at least twice today not least of which for a forearm into Mane's throat.

As for the penalty....I havent dissected it frame by frame or anything, but wow was that tight. That was a tight call. If I'm the ref I probably have to award that.

I cant see any contact with the ball, but really, Sane was out of control and running out of room, VVD's timing and decisions are usually better than that, but there was really no need to make that tackle.

Mahrez calling off Jesus and skying it though? Beautiful stuff.

Again, fair result, there wasnt a lot in that match but everyone keeps pace and we march on.

Looked like a clear penalty to me, but watching Mahrez putting it into the cheap seats was a thing of beauty.

Sean Cox (the Liverpool fan that got assaulted by Roma Ultras last season) update.
Heartbreaking to read.

Chelsea want to send their racist on trips to Auschwitz instead of banning them.

https://www.theguardian.com/football...s-antisemitism

interesting strategy. I'd hope they make them pay for the trip at least.

It is an interesting strategy, one of the less crazy ones Abramovich has come up with.

I dont see how you could make them pay unless you tacked the cost of the trip onto their future purchase of tickets.

He does make a good point though, just banning them wont change their behaviour so maybe some out-of-the-box thinking will yield better results.

Granted, being sent to Poland is also a significant punishment.

I wonder if the signs in Stamford Bridge read: "No Racism! Or we send you to Poland!"

Or: "Racists will be sent to the Concentration Camp!"

"Um...boss...phrasing?"

This feels like the longest international break ever.

Obvious thing to say with hindsight, but they probably should have sold Pogba after the WC and maybe they could have recouped most of what they paid for him. Value just plummeting now, yeah Mourinho chokes the life out of any creative player, but that doesn't forgive Pogba's laziness. If you're gonna complain about not attacking much, you'd better not put in that kind of effort in your own box.

Brutal for United, deserved the win for the second half performance.

Phil neville not biased at all on that call, chelsea bench celebrates and its disgraceful....

Maybe they should have just taken a knee slide run down to the corner

Still think they would get massive value for him, was 90m pounds, dembele and coutinho have since gone for more, id be surprised if they dont get that if they do sell

One potential issue is of the mega clubs that could afford him is barca wont be able to spend that kind of money on midfield this summer

But madrid and psg for sure would be involved

Way more likely mourinho goes though and a new manager gets way more out of him

I dislike Mourinho, but running over to pump your fist directly in his face is disgraceful. I actually give credit to Mourinho there as must have been seething when that happened.

No idea why WH fans are booing this. Frankly, he slid in with his studs up into Lucas’ planted leg. If anything that’s a straight red for me.

I'll celebrate the day when David Silva goes back to Spain. Exceptional player and Citys MVP by far IMO.

Phil Nevill has rarely been one to hide his blatant bias.

I have to agree, I dont know what Coach was thinking but it appears as if cooler heads have prevailed.

I'll take the 3 points but that was not a very convincing win.

Martial now wants to re-sign with United, according to the always reliable RMC. Great news.

Leicester dominating this game, robbed of a clear penalty.
