Heat to Announce Head Coach and Logo Friday-update it's Playfair
Yes it's from twitter, but it's the Heat's official account and I haven't seen a PR or article on this yet.

Hopefully Playfair and the logo should have something to do with the Atlanta Flames logo.

The quick announcement following last week's stuff suggests it is indeed Playfair.

Back to experimenting and teaching kids. Think the junior teams around the area will benefit from having an excellent technical coach available?

what a weird road for Playfair. from minor coach, to assistant NHL coach, to head coach, back to assistant coach, and now back to square one in the minors. his career looks like a sine wave

You guys dont like McGill?
I personally didn't like some of his ideas but overall was a pretty damn good coach. look at who/what he has sent to the nhl

Speculation is McGill will be an assistant coach for the Calgary Flames if/when Darryl Sutter becomes head coach.

Its playfair, he accepted the job. My little brother is friends with Jim's son said they were moving to abotsford as soon as the school year was over.

Had an idea!

I would be elated if Playfair took the job.
Guy has some serious talent and know-how when it comes to teaching the younger kids the ropes.

I too hope it's Playfair, with a couple of the organizations best defence prospects in Aulie and Negrin looking to be first year pro's it would be nice to have a guy with Playfairs track record with young defenceman down there to help them learn the game.
As for McGill I think he'll either be the Flames next head coach, or he'll be a key member of Darryl Sutters coaching staff.

Well I would like to see Playfair take the job as well. This means he's still in our system and might have another crack at the head coaching job of the Calgary Flames one day. I wouldn't mind seeing him getting another shot as we replaced him with Mike Keenan which should've never happened.

Maybe the quick turnaround also means it's the Atlanta 'A'? Either that or the logo is as rushed as the name.

I'm going to bet on a just a flame logo of some sort. No letter, just a fire. This is just 100% speculation.
And I'm glad PLayfair stays, but I have to wonder how he feels about getting the go-around.

I hope his son never visited CP in 2006/07

I hope the logo is Jim Playfair with flaming hair (possibly from his hair gel)
