Although, in fairness Tuchel initially signed an 18 month with Chelsea, but was extended 6 months later after winning CL.
Aren't the one year or 18 month contracts becoming more common in general?

Yeah...Conte hasn't been the type that likes to stay around a long time.

151 matches at Juventus
25 for the Italian national team
106 for Chelsea
102 at Inter Milan

He delivered 3 league titles at Juventus, 1 at Chelsea, and 1 at Inter in that time, but hasn't really had a long tenured job yet.

Actually, I stand corrected - they are.

Emery must be getting PAID, that is a pretty tough assignment. Everyone talking about the window but probably be 21-22 games played by the time they get anyone in, they could be a long ways adrift. I do like their front 2 and at least they have Brentford, Norwich and Burnley coming up as 3 of their next 5, Brentford look like a Championship team lately since the adrenaline has worn off and seem to be sinking. And Watford as well seem to be going down the tubes since their ill advised managerial change.

Would be a huge kick in the nads if they could sign Ismaila Sarr from Watford this coming window, take a relegation rival's only good player away and he is one of the top 5 players outside a big club in the prem right now. I feel that those are the kinds of players they should be targeting rather than cast offs from the big clubs

It feels like they are gonna need two steps of team building, first is guys like sarr or others just to stabilize and get them close to top 6ish, that's when the world class players probably start to come in

If they just bring in a bunch of robinhos its gonna be a longer road to the top

Yeah. I watched that second Neville fan forum thing and the point was made that no one really wants to be first one in and the real winner will be the second appointment.

But other clubs have to be seeing this as a prime selling opportunity for an eager buyer.

Totally insane that he would leave a club in CL for one that could very well be in the Championship. I know there's the money, but that still seems like a poor decision.

I was hoping that Spurs would sign Sarr both this summer and last summer. He looks like such a good talent.

Good summary of events from james horncastle

Sounds like what everyone thought happened in the summer did, he wasnt sure of the transfer strategy, but he really liked the incomings, romero and royal especially

Depends on your point of view.

We're still waiting on Locke to elaborate on another of his insightful posts as to why it's a Ilaughable appointment.

Looks like Emery has rejected Newcastle.

Makes sense. Stay and manage a team in Champions League or face a relegation battle and potentially manage a team in the Championship. It’s not exactly compelling.

As much as I love Dean Smith for getting Villa back to the premier league and back to respectability, I think that was his last game today, 5 losses in a row is too much for this ownership, think we will see Fonseca as Villa manager by next match.

Could already by 5-0 City if not for De Gea. The difference in intensity between the teams is pretty striking.

Ronaldo is basically out of the play it seems, and Fernandes doesn’t want to cover the space behind him. It’s not often that 2-0 score flatters a team, but that’s what this is. I can’t believe we lost to this.
