Ok, there's one upset that we need. So we avoid the #1 seed (could be Colorado or Vegas) guaranteed.

If Chicago wins tonight, or if Minnesota wins the 2 games needed to upset Vancouver, we'll avoid both Colorado AND Vegas in Round 1.

Honest question: Does anyone think the Chayka situation served as motivation for the players? Do you think they would care enough to show him up by trying extra hard? I wonder if it had anything to do with it.

Just avoiding the Avs would be a win, but somehow getting Dallas would be a dream. Those jokers haven't won a game since February!

Let's save the Avs for the Conference Final, when we really have our feet under us.

I would also find Nashville an acceptable place for the #1 pick to land...really, any non-Canadian market is fine at this point.

I felt like the Coyotes had it in them to beat the Predators before that mess happened as Nashville was so inconsistent this season, but it wouldn't surprise me if that was an extra little motivator.

YESSSSSSSSSS

Drawing Nashville was good mojo from 2012. But Kuemper won the series

No I doubt the players care too much about the Chayka thing.

I think people are just forgetting that when healthy around Christmas time that Arizona was battling for the 1 seed in the pacific and top 4 in the conference.

Both goalies got hurt and they ran into some other injury issues but when healthy they were an okay team this year.

And they won this series without their #1 centre and leading scorer, Schmaltz. He should be back for the next round.

Does Nashville have their own first? I think I’d be okay with them getting the 1st overall pick.

Pretty good market, fun city, don’t hate the team, and haven’t really had a true superstar forward in their prime (Kariya and Peter Forsberg were post their prime) in their existence in Nashville.

I never understood the John Hynes hire by the Predators. I wonder if there’s a big shakeup coming in Nashville.

Good result potentially for the flames. Now for Chicago to get the oilers out.

Yes, Nashville still owns their own first.

If I'm reading the conditions correctly, every team who could still win the lottery either owns their own pick, or has conditional control that will allow them to keep it if they win the lottery.

The legend of Matt Duchene continues. Seems like wherever he ends up he makes the team worse.

He was really good in the playoffs for CBJ last year. I don't read a lot into these sorts of individual player assessments after what Ryan O'Reilly did last summer.
