They need to put a sign up in all Start Trek writers rooms:
"NO TIME TRAVEL- think of another idea, you hack"

I never got into Voyager or DS9. I tried, but its honestly a chore and wasn’t enjoyable so I didn’t see what they tried.
Picard was too much fan service centric, which looks like it is being continued. I think I am more interested in the backstory would about Hugh and the XBs after the events in Descent.

You should probably say no space travel as well while you are at it. Or no aliens. The show should just 10 1-hr episodes of Picard wandering through his vineyard.
Every single Star Trek TV show and movie series featured time travel. All of them. I'm not a fan of them all, but it is core Star Trek.

Space travel and aliens make for interesting stories. Very rarely does time travel. Used properly, sure, it can be. But they've shown they are incapable of doing that, so I'd like to see them stop trying. Discovery had all the potential of traveling 1000 years in the future, and they squandered every bit of it.

Just Picard sitting on his patio drinking his wine and getting progressively more and more wasted whilst pondering the state of Galactic affairs with Q.
I'd watch that...it'd actually be a superior and more sensical plotline.
Q: "What is this glorious liquid sustenance?"
JLP: "Its wine."
Q: "I was so, so wrong about humanity...this godly elixir is amazeballs! We shall wine!!"

I'm guessing it was too expensive to do the CGI de-aging thing, so they said screw it. Let him be older.

He can appear however he wants. I'm sure there will be a line about appearing like Picard, to make him feel relatable.

Hair dye would do 90% of the job without weird CGI or anything.

Classic Star Trek.
Single throw-away line to explain why Q wants to look older and then they move along.

DS9 from Season 3 onwards I would argue is better than most of TNG

And unless you're talking about the notoriously shaky first couple of seasons of TNG then you could be labeled a Blasphemer...

Bad TNG to good TNG is demarcated by the change in uniform collars.

Its really a shame that Discovery really wrecked the Mirror Universe because they didn't understand it. I would love to see a series on the founding of the Empire. DS9 handled it really well The in the mirror darkly episodes in Enterprise was probably the best story arc in that series. And its more complicated then these people are just purely evil pirates

^ Just before my main comment, i need to absolutely disagree. The mirror universe should be thrown in the writers basement and locked away for good. It can MAYBE come out again in a time where 30 episode seasons remerge and levity is required in some mid arc breakers for character development (as a character flesher it can work.) But otherwise it's a total sham of a plot that doesn't even do basic star trek service towards pseudo-"science".
Time travel... in Picard... ugh. So unnecessary. My disappointment at this iteration of trek continues to mount. Only LD is anything tolerable. WE WANT TREK SET AFTER THE TNG MOVIE TIMELINE. Stop ruining the only live action show set there by throwing them into other time periods... what kind of thought process went into this?!!
No faith at all in the crew helming this franchise right now. Disaster.
