I've had really good luck at Video Game Trader too. Aside from a special edition preorder I was slow on asking about, they've managed to get any new game I've requested so far.
It's a smart business move once a game stops selling a lot of copies.
Personally, I would prefer to play everything on just PC but there's no guarantee that every PlayStation exclusive will eventually come out on PC and there's games I'd rather not wait 3-4+ years to play so I have no problem having both a PC and a PS5.
Well, at least Nintendo is still dedicated to making exclusive console games.
Three and a half, 4 years? Exclusive enough I think to capture essentially all customers on the PS4 and associated hardware that they could. And just in time to get people up to speed on Ragnarok on PS5. No way I'll wait til 2026 for that!
Heaven knows I'll probably double dip to run it on PC like I did for Horizon Zero Dawn. Another route to get people in on these big tentpole franchises in the PC marketspace I guess.

Yea, I don't understand the need for it to be an exclusive for such a long time. After a year or two you would think the franchise would benefit from more people playing it...I want everyone to play my favorite games no matter the system so they keep getting made!
I've been playing a lot of battletech lately with the roguetech mod installed. Pretty fun, but very very slow. If you like plodding tactics games with a lot of customization, difficulty and grind (this can be modified to some extent) I would recommend it.
The only advantage to making a console exclusive in 2021 is that the game would theoretically be optimized for the console it's on. If Metroid Dread was a multi-platform release I doubt it would run as well as it does on the Switch.
Otherwise, since most consoles are using similar to PC architecture these days and the porting process isn't as difficult, why not port them to other platforms?

That's not what I mean, though. If it was developed as a multi-platform release initially, the target system would probably be a higher spec console than the Switch. This means that the Switch version would probably run at a lower or inconsistent framerate and have lower resolution textures and less visual effects. Since Dread was made solely for the Switch, of course it will run super well on PC emulators that can harness way more horsepower.
It dilutes the brand. Kratos / God of War is a Playstation icon - one of the ultimate reasons that you have to have a Playstation.
Between the PC ports and still making major releases cross-platform 1.5 - 2 year after launch, the chances of me being an early adopter on PS6 are down to about zero at this point.
