To me, this is the perfect role of a public broadcaster. Take something Canadian that will struggle against the free market and make it more accessible and bigger with tax funding.

Pretty pleased with the CBC arrangement. Huge reach - larger than cable. Smart move in the cord-cutting era.

Casual fans can be exposed via the public broadcaster. Hardcores can subscribe for a (hopefully fair) price and get all of the action. Win-win.

Saw some OneSoccer tweets saying the platform will be free for a generous period of time.

I am so, so happy to have national coverage of this, to watch the other teams perform. What a great option, and also having a second league to follow during the spring and summer - takes us right until the start of the next hockey season.

So pumped for this.

I don't remember where you fall on the arena debate issue, but this is still public tax dollars going to a private enterprise.

Anyway, I'm honestly surprised the braodcast schedule isn't entirely Edmonton vs Winnipeg, Winnipeg vs. Hamilton and Hamilton vs. Edmonton.

360 degree update of the stadium courtesy of Tommy Wheeldon's twitter. Loving that the supporters section is 8 feet off the ground, as it leaves lots of room for banners off the section.

Another view of the stadium going up. Those plastic chairs are kind of cheap but the grandstand is starting to come together!

Weird, you'd think they'd use horses.

Details are still being worked out, but I might as well hype it up with 2 weeks to go. The pubs we will be working with this year are the Rose & Crown and Kildare's. My understanding is that busses to the game will be free, and there will be food and drink specials for supporters at each pub. I believe both pubs will also be showing away games.

If anyone is interested in taking advantage, I have some events up on the supporters group Facebook pages for the opening game on May 4.

The Ship and Anchor are also doing busses to games, but they never actually got back to me after I enquired, so I'm just going off of this tweet.

Official beer of the CPL is Moosehead.

And Forge is expecting 25000 for the opening game.

Hopefully there are some local beers as well, but Moosehead is better than Canadian or Budweiser, so all in all, that's a plus.

25000 may a little optimistic there, shremanator.
