Not that I think salmon is a great colour, but let’s wait to see the concept before criticizing!!

This is right where my mind went too. I remember the teal and 'marine' was all I heard of originally and the sentiment was that this California team was going to be a group of sissies.
Something brought up quite a bit then is appropriate now... teams can look pretty boss in 'girly' colours if it's done right
Of note: I haven't found a combo that looks 'masculine' in these colours yet.

But the Sharks jersey and merch almost immediately became one of the biggest sellers in the league after it was introduced.

They look like a mixture of the Kelowna Rockets with the Carolina/Phoenix trim along the bottom, with the Haida influence on the salmon.
It's decent.

The Seattle Sockeye Ultimate Frisbee team continues to be a thing, playing their season well into October.
Beginning to suspect "Sockeyes" has been scratched off the list, as the official Name Reveal is to happen sometime around the 2020 All Star Game.
From an August AMA with Seattle CEO Tim Leiweke:
Quote:
Leiweke said there would not be a fan vote to choose the name but that they are having an input.
"The fans are weighing in in a very fundamental way," Leiweke said. "There was a Seattle Times contest, 100,000 responses. We actually took every single individual response and listed them in one document, and there were 1,000 different names. Some of them can't be printed in public documents like a newspaper, but many of them were really thoughtful and inspired. So we're listening to fans every single day, and there's not an appointment or a speaking engagement I do where I don't say to somebody, 'What do you think the team name should be?'"
More than 140,000 votes were cast in the newspaper's bracket-style tournament, with Sockeyes defeating Totems in the final. Other names were Metropolitans, Steelheads, Kraken, Sasquatch, Freeze, Emeralds, Pilots, Cascades, Grunge, and Fightin' Geoducks.
"It's inspiration from fans, it's lawyers making sure that we're trademarking properly, but it's also us having in our gut a feeling about what we want to be when we grow up," Leiweke said.

I like Sasquatch.... I can picture an awesome Sasquatch logo similar to a bottle opener designed to look like a Sasquatch that I purchased at the farmers market (Pike Place) there.

I've never really cared about what they would be named, but now that I know Fighting Geoducks is a thing, anything else will be a disappointment.

Fighting Geoducks, Rain City Bitch Pidgeons, even Environmental Love Muffins if they wanted to steal half of the Canucks fan base. Naming major sports team usually ends up in a pretty underwhelming choice.

How about they can have green and black uniforms and just call themselves the Greenblacks.

Would love to see a game between the Mighty Ducks vs the Fightin' Geoducks
(and for those who don't know, a Geoduck is a clam)
