From the Coyotes perspective, problem I had lots of my forwards are expensive and have had an off year stat wise (NHL). My goal is to acquire skill, picks and youth.
For example
Kuznetsov went from 19 goals in 2019 to 2020 to 9 goals in 2020-2021 (NHL)
Likely means not a great re-rate
Toffoli however had a great year... However he is a pending UFA, which are always expensive to sign....
Zacha went from 8 goals in 2019 to 2020 to 17 goals in 2020-2021.
Likely means a good re-rate.
The other players and picks are risks, just hoping one of them may turns out.
(As for the Aho trade, I used my 4th round pick to draft the guy... shows drafting is important in CPHL)

We've acquired Paul Stastny from Minnesota for a pair of fourths — one, pick 97 this year; the other, a top-90 pick owed next year.

Hard to give up the playoff hero but wanted to clear a bit more space and this takes quite a chunk off the books. I will be fine to resign my RFAs but want to play in the UFA pool this year more than I am usually able to.

I admittedly messed up with Klefbom. I looked at his stats and thought, why is Cambam waiving him...this is going to be such a steal if I get him!
Then I proceeded to look closely when I got him, and realized the Stat line I was looking at was 19-20...ahh whoops.
For Scorp it's a low risk deal...and the bonus for him is he can now waive him still if he wants!!
And I get Ryan O'Reilly who is an absolute stud....ohhh wait ..did I mess up again?!

Gonna miss Parayko, had him since I joined 5 years ago. But he’s regressed and I didn’t want to sign him to a 3 year. Two second liners for him felt like a pretty good haul

Hated moving Burakovsky last season so I am happy to get him back. Gives me a lot more flexibility with LW/RW now
Hampus although hurt for most of the year had a decent year when he was healthy. He was still #1 in TOI for the Ducks
