Or trade him for a good young D prospect who may become 1st pairing.

It’s a no brainer trade. Necas could be signed to a bridge contract if need be and still be an RFA. Mangiapane is getting paid or he’s gone. We would need to add to get it done. Hard to say Mangiapane is better right now either

In next draft all trades for picks will be top 10 lottery protected. No chance we getting a lottery pick or top 10 for Mangiapane

Righties are a premium. If you can get necas for mangiapane you do it.

He played centre until this season. I don't think it's unreasonable to think he'll play centre again on a different team. In fact, this could be the very reason the team is considering moving him.

I think teams that are looking down the pipe of a top 10 selection next year are not going to be moving those picks. Or if they do, it is going to take a lot more than Mangiapane.

Sounds like you're all pent up. Unkink your hose here. Just because a guy plays a different position for one season doesn't make him locked into said position. This debate was had here for ages over Bennett, for example. But Lindholm is another example where he was being split between wing and centre usage and felt underplayed. Necas could be another example of exactly this.
Vis a vis Mangiapane, Mangi has better play driving stats, but going back three years to when they were the same age that is not the case. You've criticized the rest of us for not putting in effort and accuracy, but have yet to levy any serious stats or points at all on why you believe Mangiapane is much better than Necas. So why should we take your thoughts seriously?

Look at our prospect pool. Lose Johnny and trade Mangiapane for necas and it’s such a good trade we might avoid a rebuild if Tkachuk stays

Pelletier could slot in at LW and Necas can be our #2 center. This would be the best center group we would have since the early 90s. It’s a no brainer trade

Necas hasn't really played center for any length of time with the Hurricanes. He took a whopping 85 faceoffs last year, and 78 the year before.
