It definitely is, that's why I put the quotations on it. I don't blame him for hiding his real name lol

Big props to Steinberg for taking time independently verify a fake Bennett trade tweet.
Sometimes we don’t stop to mention the positives on the station.

He's used several names over his career. He was "The boss's nephew" on CJay back in the day. He's been in the business for decades and is a total pro and one of the best people in radio.
His style for traffic may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's underpinned by him taking his craft very seriously. He knows the roads better than anyone. His shtick is there just to try and make it a little entertaining.
(Trace is his real first name, but all his last names are made up)

It's bad form to wish bad things on people so let me say... I hope the following radio personalities purchase winning PowerBall ticket and immediately retire in luxury, never to be heard of on the radio ever, ever again:
Trace "Ventura" - sometimes a almost swerve of the road rushing to change the station when he comes on. He would use "Crush of the rush" at 2:00 am on a dirt road.
Logan Gordon - he would now be able to replace the marbles in his mouth with solid gold ones. Bling!
Not FAN960 but... Mookie Wilson. Wife wants to wake up to that station.. I often wake up disappointing, wishing that I didn't....

Does anyone else have issue when you try to listen click some of their segments it doesn't load or play? Fix this crap! I'm just going to stop trying. If you put it up on your site make sure it works. What business does this?

Seems like Bell cuts continue today, with entire TSN radio station shutdowns in Vancouver, Winnipeg and Hamilton. Probably a good time to get some better sports radio talent - if they actually care to get better or spend money. Which in all honesty, they probably don’t.

Can there be a memo sent out to reporters covering the Flames that its not Johnny GOOdreau.
The new Athletic beat reporter does it and so does the one host on SN, it's almost as grating as saying CalGARY.

....This is how I pronounce the city I live it. After all, it is NOT spelled/pronounced 'Cal-Gurry'.

It's Cal-GREE. People that move here from outside the city typically go with the Cal-GARY.

Nope. Cal-Gary puts the emphasis on the wrong syllable and pronounces the "ga" wrong.
Its Cal-Gah-Ree. The middle syllable is quick and sometimes pronounced "guh".
Cal-gree skips the middle syllable altogether and can be acceptable when speaking fast but isn't really right either. Not quite a Toronto with a silent second t situation, but close.

Calgree is correct. Drawly optional

This is so wrong I'm going back into that TSN thread and withdrawing my thanks from your other post. You know, to send a message.

Actually its quite common in english to skip that third syllable
Quote:
The second "a" in Calgary sits in what the field of phonetics calls a schwa vowel sound – the schwa is similar to an "eh" sound. There's a rule in English that when a stress vowel (Cal), is followed by a schwa (ga) and then an unstressed syllable (ry), that schwa sound is reduced the more often the word is used. Eventually, it can be dropped completely.

Doesn't really matter. With the way society is degrading, everyone will be writing YYC and no one will be speaking to other people with their voices.

I see a lot of Bell bashing on Twitter — did Vancouver have a separate sports radio station by TSN? Because I’m assuming the one Andrew Walker joined is sportnet like Calgary’s 960.
