Nope the full big show is on now. Nault, Lou, Wills. Sounds like it was likely just Kirsch and Rintoul/Surman who were let go

I mean Rintoul/Surman was a pretty awful show.
Rintoul is bland and boring and then they added the exact same person to the show. Terrible.

I'm good listening to afternoons until Wills enters the conversation, or Nault (sometimes).

Kirch being let go is a earthshaking move for radio in this city.
Nice guy and I hope he lands on his feet.
If the Morning Show was ever to be discontinued, it would mean the end of the station entirely. Its the flagship of the whole thing.
Boomer is a huge radio talent, Pinder, as much as I can't stand his smary nonsense, is also a rising star in that industry.
Pat is very much a true pro but i think will be limited in where he can go in broadcasting but he is a terrific writer as well and will be fine in the sports media landscape.
Doubt anyone else at 960 has a bright future in radio either, though I think they would be well served to get a female host who can carry a show. Mango should give it a go!

I was wondering why CBS Sports was playing as I was driving. I had to go a fairly long way, so I got an earful of it. I learned that CBS Sports Radio is the worst broadcasting on the planet. I listened for over an hour, and through all of the commercials and sports platitudes from two decades ago, I found out that Tom Brady is playing the Patriots this week. Over an hour, and that was it, and the filler was not entertaining. I can't believe I stayed with it.
The fact that this was the fallback position for programming immediately post-Kirsch probably means that Kirsch was the only thing holding back the floodwaters of full Rogers incompetence.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but does Kirch date back to when it was the Team or when the Team converted to the Fan? That's kind of a shocker as I thought he did a pretty good job given the resources he was provided.

They only need to fill 8 hours a day now.
4 real on air personalities will have zero problems doing that.

Those who have lived in other major Canadian cities and tuned into their local radio, is it as bad as 960 in terms of hockey talk taking up 90% of the time? It is unbearable how they talk about the same. thing. every. damn. time.

I remember Kirch being a DJ on Kiss FM before it became Rock 97 (Jack FM now). So he's been with Rogers for a long time.

What else are they supposed to talk about? Calgary's MLB team?

It is also interesting to note that it seems like Frank Serivali and Chris Johnston have kind of switched roles. Johnston is now on TSN and Serivali is about to go on the FAN. While I do not believe Serivali is a SN employee he seems to be affiliated with them.

Talk about sports. You're a sports show. They never talk basketball, soccer, tennis, racing. It's always hockey and it's always the same thing.

Both seem to essentially be freelancing it up with a few different engagements which is interesting
